Tectorum is beloved for its unique, feathery appearance. These look great stuck to driftwood, as an accent in a combined display or displayed as a specimen.

We offer Tectorum in two sizes, small and medium. Small measures in at about 2.5-3" wide. Medium measures in at about 4" wide (and is the size pictured in our listing photos). The exact Tectorum that we send will be a random selection, not the exact one shown in our photos.

Unlike other Tillandsia, you'll want to avoid soaking Tectorum, due to its thick, fluffy trichomes. Tectorum is highly drought tolerant and it will only require a thorough misting every 2-3 weeks. Make sure that your Tecoturm dries within an hour of misting (allow it to dry in an area with good airflow to keep it fluffy).

Tectorum prefers bright, direct light. The fluffy white trichomes reflect a lot of light, so it prefers a sunny location.

As with all Tillandsia, water quality matters. Use spring water, well water or tap water that has been left out overnight.

**Depending on the Tillandsia ordered, it may take up to ten days to ship. We keep some stock on hand, but some of our stock is cared for at the cultivation farm. This ensures that our Tillandsias expertly cared for and are of the utmost quality. Depending on what you order, your order may ship right away, or may take up to ten days to process. If other items are in your order, your order may arrive in multiple shipments.

All of our Tillandsia are randomly selected and you will get one similar to the one shown in our photo.

We took our Tillandsia photos near our plant racks, which cast a soft pink hue in our photos. Plants shown may be exhibiting UV stress coloration. Please allow for slight color changes in transit.

Nice way to learn about a trip to D.C.
Format: Flexibound
I got this for my kids to read before we went to Washington D.C. The pages are colorful, illustrated, and have short bursts of interesting details about the various attractions available to tourists who are visiting. My kids were eager to find the places on our itinerary and read about them ahead of time. They learned what to expect and were sure not to miss the important aspects of our tours. This book is recommended for 9 to 12 year olds and I think that is the perfect range. There is just enough information to peak their interest and not so much that they get bored by reading a bunch of text. The Table of Contents wasn't that informative in finding specific places, but the index was. My kids preferred to leaf through the whole book and find what was interesting to them.

Not good for travel, picture book only
Format: Flexibound
This is a beautiful book with fantastic illustrations and an engaging color palette. It includes a good variety of historical background information and sightseeing locations. However, it is a better picture book for browsing only. It is not a good travel book for kids to plan their own adventures. Who has ever heard of a travel book without maps?! No maps, no directions, no coordinating subway/bus maps. The printing is exceptionally small, almost too small to read. The book should have been made larger to accommodate the text. The text is excellent, but it printed as if the publisher never expected the kid/parent to read it. On one hand, our family really enjoyed how engaging the book appeared, but we were disappointed in its quality as a travel book. It shouldn’t be marketed as a travel book, but a geography book series.

I loved the switch!
New Yorker Haley found herself on a remote Australian cattle station working as a Jillaroo. One of her roommates is veteran rancher Jenna who is to show her the ropes as part of the contract with this fully paid "switch!". They soon find out that Haley is the worst Jillaroo ever, but she tries very hard and never gives up. I loved all the Aussie terms and descriptions and felt comfortably immersed in the Outback experience! Cheyenne wrote a beautiful story that was serious, yet humorous, filled with very enjoyable characters. I also enjoyed the way in which she crafted their love story and the way in which Haley became a part of the ranch's community. Well done, Cheyenne. This book was totally enjoyable!
