Nothing signals the onset of the holiday season than the appearance of Amaryllis bulbs. Amaryllis are one of the easiest, if not THE easiest, bulbs to grow! The bulb itself contains everything it needs to grow and produce blooms that will brighten your indoor spaces. Amaryllis can be grown with or without soil. Amaryllis blooms are available in a wide range of shapes, sizes and colors. Their beautiful blooms are a sight to behold during the dreary winter months.

About this Variety

If you want to ensure your Amaryllis blooms in time for the holidays, it's best to use this African grown variety. Amaryllis Merry Christmas is grown in the southern hemisphere and takes less time to bloom once potted (4-6 weeks). Paperwhites Narcissus is the absolute all-time favorite bulb for indoor forcing in winter. Clusters of fragrant, pure white blooms appear approximately 4-6 weeks after potting. Very easy to grow; no special handling or treatment required.

Exposure:

Indirect Light

Blooms:

Indoors in Winter; 6-8 weeks after planting

Height:

Grows 18-24" tall

Spacing/Depth:

Spaced evenly in container; 2-3" apart, 2-3" deep with top 'point' of bulb exposed above soil line

USDA Zones:

Indoor forcing; Grow outdoors as Perennial in zones 7B-11.

Growing Instructions

To grow in soil, peatmoss or vermiculite, plant bulbs near the soil surface so their noses, or points, are visible. After planting, water well then drain water out to just below the bottom of the bulbs. To grow without soil, fill container with pebbles or decorative stones with a minimum height of 2" or to a maximum height of 1" below the top of the container. Place the bulbs on top of the pebbles; a few small pebbles may also be placed between bulbs for support. Add water to the container until it reaches just below the bottom of the bulbs. Place container in a warm location (70-75ºF) where the bulbs will receive indirect light. After the amaryllis have bloomed indoors, water and fertilize regularly. When leaves start turning yellow, water only as needed to keep the soil moist until the foliage dies. Maintain indoors. When all danger of frost has passed and when the ground outdoors is workable, bulbs can be planted outside to naturalize in USDA hardy zones 8-11. In non-hardy zones, dig up bulbs just before frost. Let dormant amaryllis remain dry through summer. Cut off dry, yellowed foliage just above the bulb. Repot every 2-3 years.

Care Tip

Amaryllis blooms will last longer if the plant is moved to a cooler place at night (45-55ºF).

Beware of the Top Button!!😁
Style: M705
A smooth but weighted feel on a mouse pad. I have mice that move with a much lighter touch, but this is great for the computer I use with my main TV screen. Beware of the top damnable button, the one just before the scroll wheel. It turns off the clicky graduations you wheel as you roll the scroll wheel with your fingertip. When used it unleashes a whirling dervish of a gremlin, your screen will continue to scroll after you want it to stop. Sometimes it will start on its own! Incantations, voodoo, chick bones, curses and magic wands have no effect. Yelling seems to make it worse. There is no other cure other than to push the top button from Hades again. Clicks from the two main buttons are easily audible but not obnoxious. The side buttons for screen forward & back work very well also. This is my second one of these, the first stopped moving smoothly on a pad, no amount of polishing seemed to help so I retired it.

Important Info for Connecting Replacement Mouse
Style: M705
I purchased the MK705 mouse to replace the same model that had simply worn out after over 13 years of faithful service. The MK700/710 Logitech keyboard is still going strong, albeit with a few worn keys. I did however run into an issue when installing the new mouse. At first I left the old unifying receiver that came with the old mouse plugged into a usb port. I installed the batteries in the new mouse, turned it on, and found that it would not work. I figured it needed the new unifying receiver, so I turned off the keyboard and mouse and plugged the new receiver into the same USB port. The new mouse then worked but the keyboard would not. I couldn't figure out what was wrong, so I phoned Logitech support. The gentleman I spoke with walked me through the connection process, which was done on their website "logiwebconnect.com". Should you run into the same issue, the process is simple. You probably won't need any help from tech support, but if you do, they were easy to get in touch with.

Still the champ
Style: M705
Love it!!! Got this originally when it first came out. The people who talk about the scroll wheel are not very smart. It has a button to switch from hyper to regular scrolling. I do use a mouse pad. So it moves fine. Feels very comfortable in your hand. Obviously this is not for gaming. Great mouse for your home office computer.

Dependable, Reliable

As advertised. Logitech, best mouse for your hard-earned cheddar! It’s not that the (years) old Logitech mouse failed in any operational way, it just got that gummy, sticky surface texture that’s impossible to remove. While shopping for a replacement I noticed an off-brand mouse/keyboard combo and thought, “hey, 2 for 1”…mistake. All was well for about three weeks, long enough that when the gremlins arrived I didn’t immediately associate the new hardware. For the purposes of this discussion, gentle reader, know that I run legacy (what I affectionately refer to as, “Lazarus”) builds. Rigs that started life running Windows Vista/7, died, and that now, resurrected, run 10 and 11, and all that that implies. So, when a mouse started stuttering, of course I thought it was a gremlin in the machine, right? I spent more days than I am comfortable sharing with you pouring over processes and background apps, and registry trims…before Accam’s Razor suggested I eliminate the mouse as a variable. Changing the battery was ineffective, but when I swapped in the ooold Logitech…Yahtzee/Bingo/Booyah…smooth and precise…butter! All I needed was a new Logitech mouse. So, if you’re here you likely are having mouse issues of your own, or you just need one that works…this is it! 😉
