Anthurium este o planta originara din America de Sud, cunoscuta popular si sub numele de “floarea Flamingo”. In Romania, ea este cultivata ca planta de apartament, decorativa atat prin florile cerate, intr-o multitudine de culori, cat si prin frunze.

Anthurium Scandens se deosebeste prin faptul ca locul florilor este luat de fructe mov-lila, grupate in ciorchine.

Anthuriumul infloreste in mod deosebit vara, insa, in conditii optime, florile pot aparea tot timpul anului. Lumina este un factor esential pentru anthurium, insa trebuie ferit de soarele direct, intrucat planta poate suferi arsuri.

Substratul trebuie sa fie format dintr-un amestec de turba si muschi.

Udarea se face cu regularitate, astfel incat pamantul sa se mentina mereu umed.

Inmultirea se face prin seminte sau divizarea tufei.
