Yet another mix in our top 10 of the 111 mixes we are releasing in 2026. This mix is absolutely exceptional if you are willing to water as required and feed as required.

This is a very high-oxygen, ultra-structural epiphyte / lithophyte mix.
It is lean, dry-biased, and one of the most air-dominant mixes we’ve ever produced for orchids and aroids.

Think exposed canopy roots on bark and rock—where water arrives briefly, then disappears just as fast.

COMPONENTS

(Meticulously blended to work harmoniously with each other)

Tree Fern Fiber – Root grip with minimal moisture adhesion. Holds water as a film, not a reservoir.
Orchiata Bark – Structural backbone. Long-term stability and airflow.
Perlite – Lightweight aeration and rapid drainage. Eliminates saturation risk.
Lava Rock – Permanent macropores, weight, and deep oxygen channels.
Biochar – Nutrient buffering and microbial habitat with minimal moisture contribution.

WHO THIS MIX IS FOR

This mix is designed for plants that prioritize oxygen over moisture and naturally experience rapid wet–dry cycles.

Best suited for plants that:

  • Grow on bark, rock, or tree trunks

  • Experience frequent rain followed by rapid drying

  • Rot quickly in moisture-retentive substrates

  • Produce thick, exploratory, air-seeking roots

  • Are actively watered and fertilized by an attentive grower

It excels in:

  • High-humidity environments

  • Greenhouses and grow rooms

  • Situations where frequent watering is possible

  • Plants that fail even in “chunky” soils due to lack of oxygen

NON-NEGOTIABLE RULES FOR SUCCESS

  • Water thoroughly. “Sips” are useless.

  • Fertilize weakly and frequently. There is no nutrient reserve.

  • Pot sizing must be tight. Oversized pots = dry, stalled roots.

  • High humidity is strongly recommended.

  • Cold, low-light environments will stall plants quickly.

This mix rewards attention. Neglect will show immediately.

PLANTS THAT DO WELL IN THIS MIX

Anthurium (epiphytic velvet-leaf and strap-leaf species), Brassavola, Cattleya, Dendrobium (epiphytic types), Dischidia, Encyclia, Hoya (established plants), Lepismium, Monstera (climbing species), Oncidium, Philodendron (canopy species), Philodendron melanochrysum, Phalaenopsis (air-tolerant hybrids), Platycerium, Rhaphidophora, Rhipsalis, Vanilla

BEST CLIMATE

Warm, humid environments
(tropical, greenhouse, or controlled grow-room conditions)

Also suitable for dryer or arid climates only with frequent watering and active feeding.

OPTIONAL BOOSTER PACKS

Optional add-on booster packs are formulated specifically for this mix and contain 100% natural ingredients designed to accelerate establishment and early growth.

They do not replace regular fertilization.
They support the plant for approximately 1–2 months after repotting while roots re-establish.

Mix thoroughly into the substrate before use.
Do not sprinkle on the surface.

INGREDIENT QUALITY & FORMULATION

All mixes are hand-blended to order using high-quality ingredients sourced from reputable suppliers. Nothing is pre-mixed or mass-produced.

These formulations were developed with professional grower input and refined through extensive testing across multiple environments and climates. Only mixes that passed real-world trials advanced to production.

USE & RESPONSIBILITY

Plant performance depends on environment and cultural practices. We are not responsible for outcomes resulting from improper lighting, watering, feeding, pest pressure, or mismatched plant selection.

These mixes are tools. Results vary based on how they are used.

KEEPS MY ENERGETIC 1 YR OLD LAB BUSY
Size: Large
Anyone that has a field Lab knows you have to keep them busy which is difficult with the snow that won’t melt and the unusual -15 degree windchills we are having in NYC. Like others I’ve wasted so much money on various toys and puzzles trying to keep her busy and mentally stimulated. She either destroys them in minutes or won’t touch them. However, these with treats inside are fantastic. She loves the chicken flavor treats that go inside the ball. The treats for the holder are pricey but worth it so it keeps her busy for a while and she doesn’t get super hyper with cabin fever. Once I can get her back outside for longer periods to play and run off her excess energy I probably won’t be buying them on a regular basis given the price and that they only last a couple of hours given her strong jaws….Probably only for a special treat. However, for now they are worth every penny. The only con is they are difficult to get into the holder which is good so she can’t remove it.

We love em!
Size: Medium, Size: Medium
My dog loves these! I get a size smaller so it’s harder for him to eat. He’s 70lbs I get him the medium and it will last him 4 ish days. I also fuill the back with dog safe peanut butter, broken treats, and his food. This keeps him happy while I’m at work :) for reference he’s a gsd, and Australian shepherd mix. He never lets it get too far away, and proudly carries it along even when empty. He had one for over a year that just now started to break. They are very strong, great for chewers, and worth their weight in gold! When empty they also make them have the funniest faces🤣 again my dog had the first one for over a year before it started to rip. They are hardy.

Wrong item sent
Size: Small, Size: Small
The bento ball itself is great but the extra 16 treats that were sent as part of the purchase were the wrong kind. The picture used in the Amazon ad is the one shown in the left part of the picture I posted (dome shaped treats with a dog named Lacey in the picture), and what I received is shown in the right part of the picture (ridged treats with a dog named Bella in the picture). The problem with the Bella treats is that they are a bit smaller than the Lacey treats which means that they dont fit sugly into the bento ball. This in turn means that my little maltipoo gets them out of the bento ball in a few minutes. This defeats the whol purpose of the treat, and even worse this is a choking hazard for small dogs which makes the product unusable for me. FYI - I have never had this problem with the Lacey treats - they work great which is why I bought this product since this is what was shown in the picture. I sent a message to the vendor about this but have not heard anything back. Amazon offered to refund me half of the total purchase price if I sent back both the ball and the 7 of the 8 treat packages (I opened one only to discover this problem), which is also not great.

Fun, but short lived. Not tough enough for hard chewers
Size: Medium
Great idea. Wish it was tougher. My dog gets the branded treats out in ten minutes, and then destroys the ball in 30 minutes.

Cute birthday bone
Pattern Name: Bone
Cute as can be and I’m glad ordered for my doodles 1st birthday. Unfortunately my doodle is an aggressive chewer and it didn’t last but a day or two after giving it to him. This is normal for our pup with every stuffy we give him.
