The Nepenthes Miranda pitcher plants have long pitchers that are green with burgundy spots and hairs that run down the back of the pitchers. The pitchers form with closed lids until they are ready to eat, then the top opens emitting a pheromone To draw the bugs to them while making the liquid inside the pitchers. The bottle shape makes it difficult for insects to leave and they are eventually dissolved by the plants juices. Pitcher plants thrive in a humid warm brightly lit environment keeping its soil somewhat moist. Please keep this variety in temperatures above 50°.
These plants are grown in a 8” pot. Pitcher plants will naturally have less pitcher production in the winter due to lack of as many bugs in the winter and a natural dormancy period for plants.
