Monstera adansonii, commonly known as Swiss Cheese Plant, is a fast-growing tropical vine known for its unique, perforated leaves that develop fenestrations (holes) as they mature. This feature allows it to withstand strong winds in its native habitat. It can be grown as a trailing or climbing houseplant or outdoors in warm climates, where it can attach to trees or trellises.

Native Range

Monstera adansonii is native to Central and South America, particularly in rainforests where it thrives as an epiphyte, climbing trees and structures.

Growing Zones

  • USDA Hardiness Zones: 10–12 (outdoor perennial)

  • Grown as a houseplant in cooler zones.

Size

  • Height: 3 to 10 feet indoors, up to 12–15 feet outdoors if given support.

  • Width: 2 to 4 feet (spreading/trailing habit).

Growing Conditions

  • Light: Prefers bright, indirect light; tolerates low light but grows slower. Avoid direct sun, which can scorch the leaves.

  • Soil: Well-draining, peat-based soil mix (or aroid mix with orchid bark, perlite, and compost).

  • Watering: Keep soil slightly moist but not soggy; water when the top 1–2 Inches of soil feel dry.

  • Humidity: Thrives in high humidity (60% or more); misting or using a humidifier helps.

  • Temperature: Prefers 65–85°F (18–29°C); avoid cold drafts and temperatures below 50°F.

  • Fertilizer: Monthly feeding with a balanced, diluted fertilizer during the growing season (spring–summer).

Pruning & Maintenance

  • Prune leggy vines to encourage bushier growth.

  • Wipe leaves regularly to remove dust and enhance photosynthesis.

  • Provide a moss pole or trellis for climbing growth.

Uses

  • Houseplant: Popular for indoor spaces due to its air-purifying properties.

  • Hanging Baskets & Trellises: Works well as a trailing or climbing plant.

  • Terrariums & Vivariums: Suitable for humid environments.

  • Outdoor Tropical Gardens: Adds a lush, jungle-like feel in warm climates.

Great shirts at a great price.
Size: X-Large, Color: Black, Pocket Description: Front Pocket
Nice heavy weight short sleeve Tee very much like a Haines Beefy Tee in weight and a little less cost. The fit was exactly as Haines or other brand name tee shirts and as stated the weight and quality is almost identical as the Haines Beefy Tee's. Great shirts at a great price.

Nice All Cotton Shirt
Size: Large, Color: Medium Grey Heather, Pocket Description: Front Pocket
Nice shirt. Heavy cotton. I'll wear this for work. Heavier than Carhartt. Good value. And this gray is usually 95% cotton from Carhartt or Riggs. My preference is 100% cotton. I normally wear XL but finding all the vendors XL's are too baggy now. This L is a good fit.

Not my ideal, but a good shirt for the money
Size: Large, Color: Light Olive, Pocket Description: Front Pocket
This is a heavier-weight shirt than the standard inexpensive tee. The material is a bit stiff, even after washing. As with most of the Amazon brand shirts of various types I have bought, the sleeves are a bit shorter than I would like. Both the sleeves and overall length are shorter than the Russell Athletic shirts I usually buy, although this cost quite a bit less. The fit is also a bit more snug, so I would say it runs just a bit small.
