The 'Platform' potato planter is an innovative design for enabling the layering up of potatoes in a unique and easy to manage way. This provides a quick to set up and compact way of growing and harvesting potatoes. Since the planter stacks in tiers, the reduced footprint leaves more space for other produce in your garden.

Made from 3 collars and one base plate, the sections are placed on top of each other to extend the planter upwards as the potato plant grows - mimicking the layering process. Easy to assemble and get going, the first stage is to plant up one collar with the base plate attached to the bottom, providing the seed potatoes with their first 4 inches of soil in which to grow. As the potatoes shoot away, the next collar is attached (via a clever interlocking system) providing the next 4 inches of soil.

A watering ring at the top of each collar enables liquids to reach the bottom of the planter as the higher-level collars are attached, ensuring a bumper yield of potatoes. This system provides the potatoes with the maximum light during the early stages of growth (with no fabric bag flopping about above the developing shoots - as with many other planters).

The system delivers water to the roots at all stages of growth; as well as providing an easy method of harvesting - the collars are simply removed one at a time.

The dimensions for this product are as follows:

- 40 cm base diameter
- 25 cm x 1 tier planter height
- 45 cm x 2 tier planter height
- 65 cm x 3 tier planter height

Holds approximately 60 litres of compost

Please note that due to the nature of the plastic, the base may look slightly 'wavy' on receipt - rest assured, it flattens out when the planter is filled.

Key benefits:

Space-saving: Vertical stacking design allows for growing potatoes on patios, decking or anywhere with limited space such as a balcony

Layer up the soil as the plant grows: The collars can be added on top of each other as the plant grows, allowing for perfect layering and encouraging the plant to produce tubers

Efficient watering: Each collar has a watering ring that makes irrigation quick and easy

Maximises yield: The design allows for efficient watering as well as maximum exposure to sunlight, producing the highest yield possible

Easy to harvest: The collars can be removed one at a time when it is time to harvest the potatoes

Reusable and tough: The plastic construction makes the planters durable and they can be used year after year

Dimensions: The planter measures 65cm high by 40cm wide

Fairly stable. Good value for the price

Great set of stands. You have to tighten them pretty snugly to minimize wobble. Given they are metal they’ll have a little bit more give than solid wood. Even so, a tall desk I built with them remains stable and level.

These legs were used on a 26”x72” DIY quilting ironing table. The Mdjwjj Industrial Pipe Counter Bar Height Table Leg, Metal Table Legs, Iron Base are sturdy & made of real metal, nothing cheap about this product. Legs were easy to install. Highly recommend

Do it yourself
Size: 38"Height × 14" Wide
I purchased a similar set to custom make a dining room table out of butcher block, and it turned out perfect. So with the left over butcher block I purchased these legs and made the perfect kitchen island to match. It is very sturdy and a great price. Everyone wants to know where I purchased it from. I also put a piece of the butcher block across the lower bars and made a lower shelf. Love love love this.
