Each individual flower lasts a long time on the plant and in the vase. A swath of these colorful blooms will be a beacon to tempt butterflies to your area. Zinnias are edible, but have little flavor. The colorful flowers can make a pretty garnish to salads, desserts, cold drinks, or serving trays. (The flower's central disk, while edible, can be bitter.)
