Areca palm benefits

The Areca is gorgeous and gives your place a sense of luxury.

It grows thickly, so it can even act as a privacy screen.

Bigger plants clean the air better than little ones! If you have any respiratory issues, or allergies, or you live in an area with pollution, just plunk this Areca palm plant down and it’ll get busy purifying the air you breathe.

Is the areca palm the right plant for you?

If you like lovely, extravagant, BIG plants that grow to 6-8 feet high, you’ll be happy with the Areca palm indoors. Sun requirements are flexible (ranging from full sun to dappled shade), so it’ll grow almost anywhere in your home. Unlike some other palms, it’s big on self-care: You don’t need to remove any fronds until they’re brown and falling off anyway.

Care level for a big areca palm indoors

The areca palm is medium difficulty.

What light does the areca palm like—sun or shade?

Areca is pretty flexible: She likes basking in the sun, but she’s cool chilling in partial shade, too. Try a window facing south or west. (According to her horoscope, she looks best in sunset colors.)

Not sure what kind of light you have? Check out our indoor lighting guide.

How often does the Areca palm need to be watered?

The Areca palm flourishes in moist soil, but gets waterlogged easily—so drainage is key. Water when the soil dries out.

Does the Areca palm have any special requirements?

Areca gets hangry for fertilizer, when she’s actively growing. Be generous. But don’t feed her after midnight  when she lays dormant in the winter.

This big plant also likes humidity. If your place is really dry, give her a good spritz now and then.

Re-pot the Areca every couple of years.

Is the Areca palm safe for pets?

Yep! It’s not toxic to your furry little critters.

Glad I got one!
Works well. Easy to use for a manual grinder. Got this one for our camping kit as the wife and I are both aging into coffee snobs. Comes apart and it's easy to clean if you need to. Just pay attention to how it comes apart and you should be able to get it all to fit back together easily enough. I don't think it's possible to put things in backwards but given some of the guys I work with I'm learning never to underestimate people's ability to force something that doesn't belong there into place.

A really good grinder.

Probably one of the better purchases I have made in quite some time. My electric one is good and takes no effort to use, but if there is a power outage you can't use it. This one is sleek and compact. You can take it with you just about anywhere. I have been using it for only a few weeks and the durability seems really good. Also, it grinds more precisely than my electric one because of the variety of settings. The handle comes off after the grind and can be a little cumbersome to store, but that's a small issue. It's little bit of work, so if you're used to convenience maybe have that in mind, but really if we can't spend a few extra minutes to grind some beans then that's just a good problem to have in life. Maybe if you have a hand or wrist injury you can stick with the electric, but the work really is minimal and it's cool little thing to add to the morning/afternoon ritual. Highly recommend.

Perfect for what I needed.
Color: M01 Black
Love it! If you love fresh ground coffee it’s a must have! We use a Stainless steel k-Cup in our name brand coffee maker. This grinds the exact amount for a K-Cup refill. I think if you were grinding coffee for a full pot it would definitely not be worth the time and effort however for a single cup or a drip coffee maker it works really well! The grind size adjustment is on the main shaft of the grinder so I find it is easy to accidentally change the size of your grinds. Definitely have to be careful not to hold to high up while grinding coffee. It’s easy to use and hold. Looks nice and has held up well. The little coffee catch is glass so it doesn’t stain and is easy to clean. The kids love grinding my coffee for me. They find it fun as well. We took it camping and it was great for coffee around the fire too! Just don’t forget to put the little glass container on before you bring….. it makes a mess.

Small and mighty. Good quality.
Color: M01 Black, Color: M01 Black
In the past few years we’ve started buying only whole bean coffee to use in our French press. Given a few blackouts this past winter we thought it might be a good idea to have a manual coffee grinder on hand (instead of having reserve grounds). This compact grinder is good for a serving of two. It reminds me of a peppercorn mill and will fit 3 tablespoons of coffee beans. Overall I’m pleased with this product and would purchase it again. However, in the future I would also consider a larger and more ergonomic mill as I usually make at least 4 cups (4 tablespoons) of coffee at a time. The top can also be a little tricky to remove. PROS: - Grind setting works well - Quality feeling materials - Relatively simple to operate - Cost/value CONS: - May be too small for some - Top may be challenging to remove (e.g. Those with arthritis or difficulty with fine motor movement)

Compact, Quiet, and Great for an Office Coffee Upgrade
Color: M01 Black, Color: M01 Black
I bought this to use with my AeroPress at work, and for the price, it’s been a solid addition. The ceramic conical burr delivers a noticeably better cup than the pre‑ground coffee in the breakroom, and it grinds two scoops in about 15–20 seconds. It’s quiet, compact, and easy to stash with the rest of my setup. A few things to note: • The body can be slippery, and it occasionally twists in my hand when it catches a bean. A wide rubber band around the body of the grinder fixed that issue however. • Grind consistency is decent, not perfect. After three months I’ve found my sweet spot, but it’s not as uniform as my electric burr grinder at home — which is probably an unfair comparison. Expect small adjustments when switching beans as it can affect bitterness. • I wish it could be taken apart for deeper cleaning; the included brush only reaches the underside of the burrs. Maybe that’s overkill, but I’m used to doing it with my home setup. On the upside, it feels well‑built, works reliably, and the large handle knob is great for anyone with limited grip strength. Overall: A dependable, travel‑friendly grinder that delivers good results for the price. I’m happy with it and would recommend it for office or on‑the‑go brewing.
