Grewia ‘Lavender Star’ is a striking evergreen shrub or small tree admired for its unique, star-shaped purple flowers that appear over a long period from spring through to autumn. Each bloom features five narrow, lavender-purple petals with a prominent yellow centre, creating a bold display against the plant’s glossy, deep green foliage. Native to southern Africa, this fast-growing variety thrives in Melbourne’s climate when planted in a sunny, sheltered spot with well-drained soil. It tolerates dry periods once established and is an excellent choice for creating a flowering hedge, feature shrub, or small screening plant. I reached out to Owala customer service but unfortunately never received a response. Even with that issue, I still prefer the lid design over brands like Yeti or RTIC, so I would consider purchasing another Owala in the future. If you value a convenient, leak-proof lid design, it’s definitely worth considering. I just sincerely hope the insulation lasts longer on the next one.
