OTHER: Sheep Sorrel has leaves that I think look like green fish, but I believe the actual term would be arrow-shaped or sword-shaped. Ha ha. It is an introduced plant in the US with traditional herbal & medicinal uses. Sheep Sorrel is primarily used for its lemony flavored edible leaves, which can be enjoyed in salads, soups, sauces, and used as a garnish.
The plants are dioecious & form colonies. They spread by rhizomes & can spread quickly in it's desired conditions. Sheep Sorrel is able to grow in sand, gravel, or clay. Flowers bloom in a beautiful red spikes during the summer, & butterflies will stop by to visit. Birds will also enjoy eating the seeds in fall.
