Fockea edulis, also commonly known as ‘Hottentot bread’, can reach up to the height of 4 m. The thin vining winter-dormant plant has twisted tuberous roots and stems up to 10 feet long that grow from large up to 2 feet wide. Fockea edulis has its origin in South Africa and belongs to the Apocynaceae family.

Flowering

These plants bloom in late summer and produce beautiful Greenish-white flowers.

Watering and Feeding

Water Hottentot bread frequently from spring to fall, allowing the soil to dry out between waterings. Watering should be reduced in the winter and water only to keep the tuber from shriveling. Feed during the growing season with a high-nitrogen fertilizer, having a low potassium level to force tuber growth.

Soil

The best soil for your succulent is a fast-draining soil mix.

Hardiness

The Fockea edulis plant is cold-hardy. It has a frost tolerance of -2° C (28.4° F) and belongs to the hardiness zone of 9b to 11.

Light

These plants prefer to grow in partial shade sun exposure. They can tolerate full sun but require some shade during the hottest part of the day.

Propagation

Plants of the Hottentot bread are relatively simple to grow from seed. They are dioecious, which means that both male and female plants are required to produce seeds.

Fockea edulis is the best plant for your garden. It looks eye-catching and can be kept in a variety of settings.

A little longer than the filter the mechanic used last time, and that is a good thing.
At first I was concerned that this filter is about 3/16" longer than whatever one was there before, but it went in perfectly, and I realized I was getting extra filtering ability over the old one. Pleased. Volvo S60 2001.

Almost a Five Star
I have used this brand exclusively on my BMW (110K) and Volvo (90K), with synthetic oil changes at 6000 miles religiously, and neither burns a single drop of oil. I have never seen any "failure" of the filter, which remains firm until the end. Unfortunately the price advantage has been eroding over the years- boo. So lost a star for that-
