French Lavender, scientifically known as Lavandula dentata, is a fragrant lavender variety known for its unique toothed leaves, bushy growth and better heat tolerance compared to many traditional lavender types.

This listing is for bare root French Lavender. The plant will be sent with bare roots and must be repotted upon arrival.

Care Guide

  • Media: Repot using Chaiyo’s recommended well-draining mix
  • Avoid: Overwatering and heavy, soggy media

Recommended Chaiyo Mix
At our Thailand nursery, we grow French Lavender in a well-draining mix using 70% Universal Substrate and 30% French Bark Nugget 8–15mm or LECA Balls.

This mix is used under outdoor full-sun growing conditions. The ratio may be adjusted depending on your growing environment, such as airflow, sunlight, heat, humidity and whether the plant is grown in a cooler or more sheltered area.

For hotter, sunnier and airier spaces, the mix may dry faster. For shaded, cooler or lower-airflow spaces, the media may stay wet for longer. Adjust the amount of Universal Substrate and amendments accordingly, and always water based on the dryness of the media.

For best results, use Chaiyo Farm media and adjust watering based on your plant’s environment.

Important Note

Came apart.
Color: Cherries
We were playing with it and the green part pulled off of the red part. I'm pretty sure that is not supposed to happen. I took the green part away from the dog because that part is too small for my pup to play with. But we continue to play with the red part. My dog likes the texture and the bounciness.

Caution - handle comes off!
Color: Cherries
I really liked this toy when I opened package--our dog liked as well! Until a short time ago when I saw her chewing on the green "stem"! The stem had come apart from the main cherries. This is a small enough part that I think she or any bigger dog could choke on. Our dog is a small lab. Would not recommend buying.

Must buy!
Color: Grape
My dogs love this and so do I. It really smells like “fun grape” like a fun smelling marker. It’s gentle for their teeth and durable! They are both interested in it and take turns using it, pretty awesome!

Great for SuperChewers. Keeps my Golden busy.
Color: Bear, Color: Bear
My dog loves it and it keeps her busy for a while. She actually pulls it out of her toy basket and brings it to me when she wants it filled. I break her treats into some pieces that are easy to get and some a little harder. This way she doesn’t get them too fast or loose interest if they’re harder to get. Also, she’s had it for 3 months and there’s barely a mark on it and she’s still a puppy that chews her toys to pieces.
