The Monstera Swiss Cheese Vine, scientifically known as Monstera adansonii, is a popular houseplant known for its distinctive, perforated leaves. The foliage is heart-shaped, glossy, and dark green, with natural holes that develop as the plant matures, giving it the "Swiss cheese" appearance. This tropical plant is a climber and can either trail or climb, making it versatile for various indoor displays.

Grow Zone:

Monstera adansonii thrives in USDA hardiness zones 10-12. It is typically grown as a houseplant in cooler climates.

Height and Width:

When grown indoors, the Monstera Swiss Cheese Vine can reach a height of 3-6 feet, depending on support and conditions. The plant's width can vary but typically stays within 1-3 feet. Outdoors, in ideal conditions, it can grow larger, spreading over 10 feet.

Uses:

- Indoor Plant: Ideal as a decorative indoor plant, especially in hanging baskets, on shelves, or climbing up a trellis or moss pole.

- Air Purification: Known for its ability to purify the air by removing toxins.

- Ornamental Value: Adds a tropical vibe to homes and offices with its unique, holey leaves.

Native Range:

Monstera adansonii is native to the tropical rainforests of Central and South America, particularly found in countries like Mexico, Honduras, and Panama. It naturally grows in the understory of the rainforest, climbing trees to reach light.

How to Grow Monstera Swiss Cheese Vine

1. Light:

   - Prefers bright, indirect light. It can tolerate lower light conditions but will grow slower and may produce smaller leaves with fewer holes.

   - Avoid direct sunlight, which can scorch the leaves.

2. Watering:

   - Keep the soil consistently moist but not waterlogged. Water when the top Inch of the soil feels dry.

   - Reduce watering in winter when growth slows down.

3. Soil:

   - Use well-draining potting soil with a mix of peat, perlite, and orchid bark to mimic the plant's natural environment.

4. Temperature:

   - Thrives in temperatures between 65-85°F (18-29°C).

   - Avoid exposure to temperatures below 50°F (10°C).

5. Humidity:

   - Prefers high humidity. Increase humidity levels by misting the leaves, using a humidifier, or placing the pot on a pebble tray with water.

6. Fertilizing:

   - Feed with a balanced, water-soluble fertilizer every 4-6 weeks during the growing season (spring and summer).

   - Reduce or stop feeding during the fall and winter months.

7. Pruning and Training:

   - Prune to control Size and shape. Cut back any leggy growth to encourage fuller, bushier growth.

   - Train the vine to climb a support structure, or let it trail for a cascading effect.

8. Pests and Problems:

   - Watch for pests like spider mites, aphids, and mealybugs. Treat infestations with insecticidal soap or neem oil.

   - Overwatering can lead to root rot, so ensure the soil drains well and the plant is not left sitting in water.

Hard to keep on the shelf
Yesyesyesyes Imo it's the perfect male equivalent of a Honeypot wipe. It's also rock solid for drying out oily skin but to me it's kind of expensive to use it like that. Easily my favorite out of all the Thayers tonics. The serum is also really good for converting red patches into poppable pimples which then just leave, and the sulfur cream is just invaluable as a leave-on make-up/healing combo. Thayers is good stuff man. It's a billion times healthier than benzoyl peroxide or adapalene and even SA is pretty rough on the skin in therapeutic doses. Thayers does such a good job of balancing herbs and gentle chemicals to provide a uniquely safe yet effective remedy, across the board. The only thing that was a genuine flop from them for me was the rosewater tonic, which smelled like God.

Results!!
I have been using this product daily for just over two years. It’s one of those things that you just put into your daily routine and sort of forget about it. I usually don’t expect to see a huge improvement with any product. I just use them hoping that I will maintain the status quo and that things won’t get too much worse. :) This past Mother’s Day, I was with my sons and grandkids. I usually avoid letting them take my picture because these darn kids always seem to catch me with an unflattering look on my face. I’m pretty sure they do this on purpose. Anyway, I must not have had my guard up quite enough because when I got home, my phone alerted, and it was pictures, of me, taken incognito. 😎 I cautiously looked, and to my surprise I couldn’t believe how good the skin on my face looked! I hurriedly scrolled back in my pictures on my phone to find a “before” picture from three years ago and I couldn’t believe my eyes. My skin looks so much better now than it did three years ago. I wondered, how could this be? The only change that I made was adding this product to my routine a little over two years ago. There is an actual noticeable difference. Now, I realize that my experience is nowhere near proof beyond all doubt, however, I’m not taking any chances. I will continue to use this product daily. It’s relatively inexpensive and my results have been great.

Game changer!!
This stuff is amazing! I bought it because there was somewhat of a trend online saying glycolic acid is great for girls with sensitive skin. I’m inclined to agree because I have very dry, sensitive skin and this product works very well on my face and my legs (post shave). This is meant to lightly exfoliate the skin, so if you’ve just shaved your face or skin, a day later, this is great to put on to help prevent any irritation. Also, this is good for dry skin! When I have some dry patches on my face, I buff the dead skin off very gently but thoroughly. Then I use this toner to help prevent it from coming back. I was skeptical this would work because my skin is so extremely dry sometimes, but it really works! It was perfect for doing my makeup with. I use it every once in a while if I need any extra exfoliating. Do bear in mind, though, it smells really bad. I think it’s the witch hazel or something, but the product by itself smells quite gross. Definitely put lotion on a few minutes after it absorbs into the skin. This is a great product and I’m very happy with it. 10/10 when used wisely.

NOT a "dupe" but has the same results.
I am NOT saying this is a "dupe" or that they are the same in any way because they definitely have different ingredient profiles... so don't come for me... But what I will say is that if you like the first aid beauty radiance pads but don't like the price tag then this may be a cheaper option for you. This is my second bottle of this toner and 3rd tub of pads and for me personally they perform the same. The Thayers is a little stronger of an exfoliant so if you have sensitive or dry skin do a patch test to see how your skin handles it. I use it in the morning after I wash my face. It gives my skin a nice glow, removes dead skin and anything left over after washing my face and just like the radiance pads helps my makeup lay so much better. I have cotton tissues that are smooth on 1 side and textured on the other that I use instead of cotton rounds. I pair it with the Thayers milky toner, maybe some other hydrating toners, a serum, a gel moisturizer and always SPF and even without makeup my skin looks amazing and healthy all day. This is also a 12oz bottle and lasts a long time because you don't need to use a lot for it to do it's job.
