Mosaic Floating Bog Plant -Ludwigia Sedioides

Increases Natural Filtration
The 3" round clusters of small red and green leaves make the Mosaic pond plant a favorite. The diamond-shaped leaves grow from a central radius, forming a mosaic-like pattern. The mosaic plant is intolerant of alkaline water and will die if the pH is above 8. Will thrive in warm temperatures of 70º F and above, in a sunny to partly shaded location. This unusual and attractive Mosaic water plant can be placed on the surface of the water or planted as a tropical bog plant. It will spread to cover 24" in a single season.

  • PLANT TYPE Floating or Bog Plant
  • HARDINESS ZONES 9 To 12 (will do well as an annual in the north as long as temperatures are warm. minimum water temp required is 70 degrees and above)
  • GROWING LIGHT Full Sun
  • PLANT SPREAD 12" - 24"
  • WATER DEPTH 12" - 18"
  • ALSO KNOWN AS Ludwigia sedioide
Planting Instructions:
The plant will arrive as a bare root wrapped in wet paper. As the petals are delicate, we've found the best success in shipping the plants this way. While they may look underwhelming upon arrival, just give the plant a few weeks time after planting and you'll see why these are easily one of the most beautiful pond plants.
While it can be used as a floater, It's recommended that for Best results that the mosaics be planted as described below:

When treating the Mosaic-like a Tropical Bog, plant directly into pond and water garden planting shelves or you fill individual planting containers loosely with aquatic planting media, placing the appropriate fertilizer tablets into the bottom half of the planting media and covering them over, then filling planting media 2/3 to the top. Place the plant in the center of the pot with the roots spread out over the planting media, and then continuing to cover the roots with planting media. The crown of the plant, which is the connection between the roots and stems, can usually be about 1" below the surface of the planting media for best results. Avoid using bagged potting mix and other lightweight soils because they will float and continually cloud pond water.

WINTER CARE
In Zones 9 and lower, remove plant from pond prior to first frost and discard.

Shipping: We've found the best success in shipping these plants bare root. We send them earlier in the week to avoid lengthier shipping times caused by carriers weekend breaks. Orders placed Wed-Friday are likely to be shipped the following Monday.

The Epson F170 has been ideal for getting started with sublimation. It's easy to use, prints vibrant and defined colors, and has allowed me to personalize various projects with excellent results. As a beginner, it has given me a lot of confidence to learn and create without complications. I definitely recommend it for anyone starting out in sublimation.

No returns and no support. If it doesn't work properly, too bad.
Style: Printer & Inks, Style: Printer & Inks
I was fairly happy with my Epson ET 2800, but was told that I'd get better colors with the F170. So I bit the bullet. The installation went smoothly and I was printing in short order. It was when I started printing items that had some dark gray that I noticed the problem. It was printing green. I contacted Epson tech support and they answered the phone almost immediately. (And how rare is that??) The woman I spoke with seemed to be familiar with the problem and advised me to modify the printer preferences and change the color correction from "ICM" to "No color correction". Well, it wasn't printing green anymore. Now the grays were brown. At this point, she ran out of ideas and gave me an email address for the second level of tech support and asked if I'd send a photo of the printed fabrics showing the problem. I did. That was over three weeks ago. I've sent a couple of followup emails, but they're ignoring me. But the best news was discovering that there are no returns on this product. I didn't think that was a thing with Amazon and I've never had any problems before. So now the 30-day return window is about to elapse and it appears that I'm stuck with an oversized doorstop. In the photo I'm including with this review, the fabric on the upper-left was printed with my Epson ET 2800. On the upper right, the F170 with ICM color correction. On the bottom, the F170 with no color correction.
