Yeehaw! Here’s a rootin’, tootin’ beauty that’s native to Texas, Mexico, and the southwestern United States, but it’s a star performer all over the country. Hummingbird yucca boasts loads of red, trumpet-shaped blooms on top of tall spikes rising from a rosette of long, narrow leaves. Watch your head when standing near one, because the hummingbirds will come dive bombing! The flowers eventually give way to large seed pods, which are delightful and decorative in their own right. Once established, hummingbird yucca needs very little additional water, in fact, the only way to really harm this plant is by over-watering. In addition to being drought tolerant, it can handle the cold, and is a perennial down to zone 5. Hummingbird yucca started from seed will usually bloom in its second or third year. Once established, mature plants reproduce not only by seed, but also by “pupping out,” producing off-shoots around the base of the mother plant.

Full sun. Grows up to 36 inches tall and wide (eventually), with flower spikes reaching about 60 inches.

Seeds grown by Idaho Botanical Garden in Boise, Idaho.
10 seeds.
Directions: Soak seed in water for at least 2 hours before sowing in moistened well-drained seed starting mix. Cover seed lightly and keep medium moist. Seed will begin to germinate in about one week at temperatures of 68 – 70 degrees F, but may take up to 4 weeks. Once large enough to transplant, pot into a larger container. Can move outside at this point, but wait to plant into the ground until the plant is about gallon-sized.

Runs way too small
Color: Black, Size: Medium
If you live in the U.S. and wear medium, a large will fill you perfectly. I wear large and the “large” is objectively a medium in the chest arms and neck. Fix your sizes.

Looks Sharp! Stiff, Balloon Comfort!
Color: Black, Size: XX-Large
I purchased the PJ PAUL JONES Men's Oxford Button-Down Shirt as a gift, and it comes with a mix of strengths and trade-offs. The buttons are plentiful and high quality, and the inclusion of a couple of spare buttons is a thoughtful touch. The color is a deep, rich shade just as I hoped, giving the shirt a sharp, professional appearance. The fabric has a noticeable texture that looks like cotton, but the heavier thread count gives it a sturdier, more rugged feel, (almost outdoorsy) rather than the soft, premium cotton I expected. My biggest concern is that it may feel scratchy against the skin and less comfortable for long hours of wear. The shirt is also quite boxy in shape, with little to no side curve, which limits ease of movement and can cause it to crease or untuck when bending or sitting. Overall, it’s a durable, well-constructed shirt with a polished look, but comfort and fit may be an issue if you prefer softer fabric and a more tailored, flexible cut.

Nice quality, true-to-size, great value!
Color: White, Size: Medium
Very nice quality for the price point. 100% satisfied, and will definitely be purchasing more. I found this to be true-to-size > I bought a medium, and I am 6’2’ with a 40” chest 15.5” neck, 30” waist - “athletic” build, and this has a nice, nearly tailored, fit to it. The brown buttons (on the white) are a nice stepped-up touch, which had multiple people ask me where I got my shirt.

Know your body type.
Color: Navy Blue, Size: Large
I really liked the look and the buttons when I ordered it but I wound up returning only because I have to have a slim or fitted cut for any shirt to look good on me. This shirt did not hug me in the sides and looked like I was wearing someone else’s clothes. Nice shirt and good quality but it didn’t fit me personally. I did consider having it tailored but the cost of doing that was almost as much as the shirt.
