With this illustration I wanted to feature some of the most popular varieties in cultivation, as well as some more unusual species. Each leaf was originally painted in watercolor in a large format to include as much detail as possible. I use plants in my own collection and photos of plants I’ve seen in botanical gardens and private collections as my primary sources of reference.
