Graptoveria ‘Lovely Rose’ is a hybrid succulent — a cross between Graptopetalum and Echeveria. It’s called “Lovely Rose” because its compact rosettes resemble small rosebuds made of fleshy leaves.

  • Scientific name: Graptoveria ‘Lovely Rose’
  • Family: Crassulaceae
  • Origin: A horticultural hybrid (not naturally occurring in the wild)

🌱 Appearance

  • Rosette shape: Looks like a green or pinkish rose, tightly packed and elegant.
  • Size: Small — rosettes typically grow up to 6–10 cm (2–4 inches) across.
  • Leaves: Thick, smooth, and spoon-shaped; colors range from light green to pink, peach, or lilac, depending on sun exposure and temperature.
  • Growth habit: Forms dense clumps or clusters as offsets (pups) grow from the base.

🌤️ Care Requirements

Light

  • Needs bright light to maintain compact, colorful growth.
  • Best: Full sun to partial shade.
  • Indoors: Place near a south-facing window.
  • Not enough light → stretched (etiolated) growth and faded color.

Water

  • Typical succulent watering:Soak and dry” method.
  • Water thoroughly, then let soil dry completely before watering again.
  • Overwatering → root rot (common issue).
  • In winter, water less often (dormant season).

Soil

  • Use fast-draining succulent/cactus soil.
  • Ideal mix: 2 parts succulent soil + 1 part perlite or pumice.
  • Avoid dense, moisture-retaining soils.

Temperature

  • Prefers 18–27°C (65–80°F).
  • Not frost-hardy — protect from temps below 0°C (32°F).
  • Can tolerate brief mild cold if dry.

Fertilizer

  • Light feeder — optional.
  • Use a diluted succulent fertilizer (half-strength) during active growth (spring/summer).

🌼 Propagation

  • Offsets (pups): The easiest method.
    • Gently separate rosettes and replant in dry, well-draining soil.
  • Leaf propagation: Possible but tricky, as leaves are tightly packed and may not separate cleanly.
  • Stem cuttings: If elongated, cut and re-root the top rosette.

🌸 Special Features

  • Its rose-like appearance makes it a favorite for:
    • Mini gardens and dish displays
    • Wedding or gift arrangements
    • Collectors of rare or “cute” succulents
  • Color intensifies with more sunlight and cooler temperatures.

Great Practice Questions!
Format: Paperback
I mostly used this book for the practice questions, which aligned with all the topics we discussed in class. This book was organized in a way that made sense and followed my professor’s syllabus. Definitely worth the investment if you want to practice essay questions for torts!

Poorly written, but possibly best of all the garbage available today.
Format: Paperback
E&E's (including torts) are of questionable value except as an introduction to ideas and terms. The actual examples and explanations are at times self-contradictory, especially regarding the certainty of the authors in how a court would rule. I would not recommend these books to anyone going to law school if there were something better available. Unfortunately, I'm not familiar with anything better at this point. Read the whole first-year series before law school if you can't find a better series.
