Meso is a selective lawn herbicide that controls a wide range of common weeds without harming cool‑season grasses like Perennial Ryegrass and Tall Fescue. It works both before weeds sprout (pre‑emergent) and after they appear (post‑emergent), making it a versatile option for home lawns.
Its active ingredient, mesotrione, comes from a natural compound found in the bottlebrush plant. It stops weeds from producing chlorophyll, which causes them to turn white and die.
What Meso Controls
Meso is effective on many common lawn weeds, including:
- Chickweed
- Dandelion
- Clover
- Creeping Bentgrass
- Ground Ivy
- Oxalis
- Lawn Burweed
- Henbit
- Purslane
- Wild Violet
- Shepherd’s Purse
- Sowthistle
- Crabgrass (all major types)

It can also reduce Annual Poa.

Why Your Grass Might Turn White After spraying, your lawn may lighten in colour. This is normal and temporary. It happens because mesotrione affects chlorophyll production. The whitening fades as the grass recovers.
If the whitening is heavy or lasts too long, it usually means too much product was applied or the spray overlapped.

Using Meso When Seeding a New Lawn

Meso is one of the few herbicides you can safely use at the same time you sow Perennial Ryegrass or Tall Fescue. It won’t stop your grass seed from growing, but it will stop many weeds from germinating.

How to Apply - Mix 3.6–5.6 ml per 100 m² - Apply in 3–5 litres of water - Water the area with **about 3 mm** of irrigation right after spraying

Optional Boost For stronger pre‑emergent protection, Meso can be mixed with Etho when used on Ryegrass or Tall Fescue.

Fine Fescue Warning Do not use Meso as a pre‑emergent on Fine Fescue. If your seed blend contains Fine Fescue, only use Meso if it makes up less than 20%of the mix.

Using Meso on Established Lawns (Post‑Emergent)

Once your lawn is established, Meso can be used to kill existing weeds.

When to Apply - Grass must be at least 4 weeks old - It should have been mowed 2–3 times

How to Apply - Mix 3.6–5.6 ml per 100 m² - Apply in 4–5 litres of water - Do not water after spraying

For tougher weeds, adding a surfactant (like Spraysmart Pennitr8) helps the product stick and work more effectively.

Using Meso as a Pre‑Emergent on an Existing Lawn

Meso can also be used to prevent new weeds from sprouting in established turf.

- Provides 6–8 weeks of protection - Water in immediately after application - Best used in early spring when new weeds are just starting to appear - EPA rules allow only two applications per year, so timing matters

If weeds are already visible and growing, treat them as a post‑emergent instead and skip the irrigation.

Application Tips for Best Results - Use Spraysmart marking dye to avoid overlapping your spray.

- Avoid mowing for 24 hours after a post‑emergent application. - Apply evenly and measure carefully to avoid turf whitening. ---Safety Information - Keep pets and children off the lawn until the spray has dried—ideally 24 hours. - Do not use near food crops, animal feed, or grazing areas. - Follow all label instructions and local regulations. - Contains 480 g/L mesotrione (suspension concentrate).

Nice wallet. Just received it and used on trip to Italy
Too early to rate for durability, but it came quickly, looks nice, and appears to be well-made. Was a godsend on my trip to Italy and back. With all the times you have to show your passport (usually dragging your luggage with you), my passport was always at the ready, secure in my wallet in my pocket. I would not travel abroad without it. Not only that, it will serve as my daily wallet as well

Pen holder feature isn't good
Color: Cocoa
Edited review: previously I gave this a two-star review because when I inserted the pen into the pen holder the wallet couldn't close anymore... I tried taking it out putting it back in a few times and it seemed obvious to me that something was wrong and I just could not figure out why the wallet possibly was having an issue closing even though it's designed to hold a pen... To me it seemed obvious that when inserting the pen you should have the clip on the inside where are the bills go.... That single millimeter of space that that clip takes up in the bill fold causes the wallet to not be able to close properly so it springs open. Needless to say that felt extremely cheap for a product of this price and I was very unhappy and considering a return and after writing a bad review I happen to see product pictures with the clip on the inside of the wallet where your cards go and it dawned on me that I had just simply put the pen in in the wrong orientation. That completely solves the issue. So updated back to five stars, and the wallet is great. 2n update after using it for a week on an international trip so I was carrying my passport. Worked great - made me feel safe to always have my passport and room for all my most important documents inside a -just- large enough for a passport wallet. I really don't think they could have saved another millimeter and still made such a quality wallet. Having a micro pen in there is icing on the cake - makes you feel like James bond. I also felt safer having a hidden bill compartment so your not showing a fat stack of foreign currency (I mean depends on your use case but I was in some rather poor areas and this added some peace of mind and 'security' in my opinion). You can just keep some small bills up front and your real stack on the hidden flap. I won't dock a star for it - but keeping this on a back pocket so you're sitting on it because it's bigger and the way it holds cards after just one week there's already card imprints on the leather (just imagine your older leather wallets where the cards start wearing through the leather) Also I tested the RFD blocking and it indeed works. I'm unable to scan any cards through the wallet and that was an important feature to me. Even when the wallet is open and I ran scanners directly over cards (in the sleeves) it still didn't pick anything up.

Works
Color: Cocoa
Good wallet that can fit a passport, hold cash, and cards. “Hidden” pockets too, but that just means more storage space to me. Soft and supple leather that gets better when conditioned and cared for properly. Main feature I like is the RFID blocking, I only get wallets that have it. Expensive- yes. Works, also yes.

Really bad amazon customer service
Color: Black
The wallet seems great but the box it came in wasn't sealed. It was supposed to arrive by the 22nd and it arrived 4 days later. I needed it for a trip on the 1st. When I took it out, the wallet had two scratches at the back and the pen was also scratched. I contacted customer service and they couldn't help me in any way to get the replacement item before my departure date. I kept it anyways because of thr necessity. Gave it 3 stars because of the good quality of the wallet

Great Wallet
I'm pretty particular when it comes to things that I need to carry at all times when I'm out. When looking for a new wallet back in 2014, I initially went with the oft recommended Saddleback Leather Medium Bifold. Initially, that wallet seemed to be both durable and well made. Unfortunately, after several months in the back pocket, two things became clear: first, the leather was so taught that it was breaking my credit cards in half at the pinch point of the credit card slot. Second, what I took for durability in the thickness of the leather quickly turned into nuisance as I ended up with an inch thick brick that ruined my seating comfort. I called Saddleback regarding the first point and they told me that it was a known issue and if I didn't like it I could send the wallet back, which I did. That left me at a crossroads with a new requirement: I wanted a leather wallet that was thin enough to not be uncomfortable, held 6 credit/id cards and a handful of bills. I searched around until I came across Bellroy. The travel wallet seemed to check all the boxes and added some features I never knew I needed. After 6 years of use, I finally decided that the original travel wallet I bought in 2014 had run its useful life, down to holes in the leather and all. I liked it so much, I bought another one. There are some subtle differences which I will highlight below. 1. Fits in Your Pocket This is ostensibly the best feature of the wallet. It is large in the two dimensions you shouldn't care about and thin where it counts. I have not found a pair of pants that I would wear that it doesn't fit in. With my passport, 6 credit/id cards, and a dozen bills it is roughly 3/4 inches thick. Fabulous. 2. The Right Pen I had no idea how useful the pen would be. I find occasion to pull it out at least once a week. I used to carry the wonderful Fisher Space Pen, but no longer do as this fills the role in a much for optimized way. Bellroy is kind enough to include an ink refill with every wallet and I still have the refill from 2014. That's not to delegitimize the previous point; the kind of things I write are forms and other short memos. I wouldn't use the pen to write a novel. The new wallet looks to have a pen that Bellroy have either white labelled or made themselves. I haven't yet written with it, but if it is at least as good as the Walkie it replaced, things should be fine. 3. Added Security The new wallet takes the split billfold and adds a flap that conveniently hides away the back section from prying eyes. In theory this seems like a useful feature. In practice, the flap is not quite long enough to allow for more than one or two bills without the cavity being visible when the wallet is opened. The new wallet also has RFID shielding which I don't recall being a feature of the old wallet. It sounds like a useful feature now that at least one of my credit cards has a contactless payment feature. 4. Leather It's a thin wallet so you should expect the leather to be thin as well. I got 6 years out of the first wallet and I'm not a guy who is easy on wallets. It has been in my pocket on rooftops doing solar installations, in machine shops, and on every kind of seat imaginable. My old wallet has been fully submerged in water more than once. With all that punishment, it outlasted the warranty by two times. None of the stitching has failed and the only real damage is two small holes in the outer leatherwork. If you are a business traveler, this should go out of style before it is rendered unusable from wear. In short, this is a great wallet for everyday use. I approve to the extent that I didn't look for a new choice when my old one wore out.
