Simmondsia chinensis, commonly known as jojoba, is a shrub native to the arid regions of the southwestern United States and northwestern Mexico. Here are some key features and characteristics:

Appearance: Jojoba is a dioecious evergreen shrub that typically grows to heights of 3 to 6 feet (0.9 to 1.8 meters), although it can occasionally reach up to 10 feet (3 meters) tall. It has a dense, rounded crown with small, leathery, gray-green leaves that are oval or lance-shaped. The plant produces small, greenish-yellow flowers in spring, which are inconspicuous and typically go unnoticed.

Fruit: Jojoba produces fleshy, greenish-brown fruit that resembles acorns or small nuts. These fruits contain a single seed, which is rich in oil. The seeds, commonly referred to as jojoba beans or nuts, are the primary commercial product of the plant.

Oil Production: Jojoba oil is highly valued for its unique chemical composition, which closely resembles human sebum, the natural oil produced by the skin. Jojoba oil is extracted from the seeds and is used in a variety of cosmetic, pharmaceutical, and industrial applications. It is prized for its moisturizing and emollient properties and is commonly found in skincare products such as lotions, creams, and lip balms.

Habitat: Jojoba is well adapted to arid and semi-arid climates, where it thrives in sandy or rocky soils with good drainage. It is commonly found in desert scrub, chaparral, and coastal dunes, where it plays an important role in stabilizing soils and preventing erosion.

Cultural and Ecological Significance: Jojoba has been used for centuries by Indigenous peoples of the southwestern United States and northwestern Mexico for various purposes, including food, medicine, and cosmetics. The plant also provides important habitat and food for wildlife, including birds and small mammals.

Commercial Cultivation: Jojoba is commercially cultivated for its oil, which is in high demand in the cosmetics industry. The plant's ability to thrive in arid environments makes it well-suited to cultivation in regions with limited water resources. Jojoba cultivation is practiced in several countries, including the United States, Argentina, Israel, and Australia.

Overall, Simmondsia chinensis is a versatile and valuable plant, prized for its oil-rich seeds, ecological resilience, and numerous commercial applications.

    Good image quality
    Set name: Sublimation Printer
Has good print quality and has worked well. I like the tray paper feed for regular size and that I can use the back paper feed set up for my mug sized sublimation paper. I had considered converting an ink jet to a sublimation, but for a little more decided to try this. Glad I did. Set up was pretty easy and I'm happy with the color quality and accuracy. I wasn't sure when I first saw the print out, but once the sublimation was doen, it was great.

    Great value
    Set name: Sublimation Printer
This is my first sublimation printer and I am very happy with this printer. The photos that I have printed have been very good quality and vibrant colors and have applied really well to the sublimation blanks I have used. I like that it will self clean the heads as long as the printer power is on. It was important to me to get an actual sublimation printer in order to have the warranty on it. The printer works with the Artspira app. This app is only available on a smart phone or tablet. It is very difficult to design on such a small screen. Brother needs to have a program that will work on a computer to make designing easier. I did gave difficulties getting my phone to connect to the printer after I designed my work on the very small screen. I used the chat feature on the Brother site and they were able to help me get it connected in order to print.

    NOt good... not great... horrible
    Set name: Sublimation Printer
I’m thoroughly disappointed with the Brother Sublimation Printer and would not recommend it. Out of the box, the setup process was more complex than anticipated, with unclear instructions and frequent errors. The print quality was inconsistent, with colors often coming out dull or inaccurate, despite multiple attempts at calibration. I experienced frequent paper jams, which disrupted my workflow and wasted a lot of materials. The printer’s software is buggy and doesn’t integrate well with other design programs, making it frustrating to use. The connectivity options were unreliable, causing frequent disconnections and delays. Additionally, the printer is quite noisy during operation, which can be distracting and bothersome. The build quality feels flimsy and not as durable as I expected. The customer support experience was also poor, with slow response times and unhelpful solutions. I faced issues with ink usage, as the cartridges seemed to run out quickly, leading to higher operational costs. The sublimation prints didn’t have the sharp, vibrant quality I was hoping for, making my final products look less professional. The lack of clear troubleshooting guides added to the frustration. The printer’s design is bulky and takes up more space than I anticipated. Overall, this Brother Sublimation Printer has been a letdown in terms of performance, reliability, and ease of use. I regret investing in this product and would advise looking for alternatives.
