Autumn Beauty Sunflower produces large 8″ to 9″ blossoms on tall branching plants. Blooms vary from shades of lemony yellow to deep rust and wine. Adds a splash of bright, warm color to decks and patios. Dynamic as a backdrop for shorter plantings or as a temporary hedge. Adds color and texture to container and patio gardens. Excellent as a long-lasting cut flower.

Annual for full sun. Beautiful, fully double, golden-yellow flowers 6" (15 cm.) across on 2' (60 cm.) stems distinguish this unique, fast growing variety. Non-genetically engineered seeds.


Culture: Easy to grow; plants thrive even in poor soil with moderate moisture. Sow seed after all danger of frost has passed in a sunny area. 100-120 days to bloom. Flowers are excellent for cutting. Boil stems for 1 1/2 minutes for long lasting arrangements. Great in the garden and in patio containers.

I picked this up because I saw it on the shelf in the library. The story was written in a way that was relatable to children who might have social anxiety and helps the child realize that these are normal feelings. The illustrations went with the story very well and were perfect for a child to enjoy with the story. I highly recommend this book.

Adorable and surprising!

The artwork in this book is simply adorable. The cute little animals. The fun tunnels to follow. The subtle textures added to the art (look at the sheet music in the tunnels!) And all of the titles of the books each animal has. Kids (and adults) will love looking over all of the details. And my favorite, and surprising bit, is that Mole (and a new friend) are allowed to remain introverted. They're not forced to change at the end into a situation they're not comfortable with. I think this is an amazing ending and one that you wouldn't see in many other books dealing with this situation. What a wonderful book!

A shy mole is both true to his friend and true to himself.
Format: Hardcover
Mole makes cream puffs and braves a long underground trip to his friend Rabbit's noisy party. Noisy parties are not for Mole so he gives Rabbit the gift and is on his way. But all is not lost. Another guest, hidden behind a lovely bouquet, is of the same mindset and the presence of these two loyal but shy friends does not seem to be a complete accident. Mole's honest monologue is endearing and the above and below ground scenery of the animal community is sweet.
