The ripe fruit turns a golden color and is a sweet edible fleshy treat. The pulp is used commercially in passion fruit juices. The large 4 5 flowers have uniquely long twisting purple filaments. In the northern latitudes it tends to be a fall bloomer and the flowers need to be hand pollinated to produce fruit.

With lots of light, regular watering and moderate fertilizer, Passiflora quadrangularis should flower within a year. Prune only after flowering.
