What is Kurtail Lawn & KPlus+ Weedkiller Bundle?

Kurtail Lawn is a new product in our Kurtail range that combines four active ingredients for maximum efficiency in treating horsetail. It also treats a variety of turf weeds including yarrow, self-heal, buttercup, white clover, daisy, deadnettle, speedwell, Shepherd's Purse and Field Forget-me-not. This bundle combines Kurtail Lawn with KPlus+ for improved efficiency.

Key points of Kurtail Lawn:

  • Four active ingredients: 70g/L 2,4-D, 70g/L MCPA, 42g/L MCPP-P, 20g/L Dicamba
  • Treats horsetail, yarrow, buttercup, self-heal, daisy, white clover and dandelion
  • Best results when applied once a year during active growth (March to September)
  • Does not contain glyphosate
  • Do not treat new lawns until established for 6 months

Key points of KPlus+:

  • Improves spray results by conditioning spray water
  • Water makes up over 95% of spray solution and water quality (pH, dissolved salts, impurities) affects outcomes. KPlus+ removes variation for better, more consistent results
  • pH buffer adjusting water to pH 6 for optimal pesticide activity
  • Locks away dissolved salts so maximum active ingredient stays available
  • Improves target coverage with better deposition and retention
  • Reduces foaming in the tank for quicker filling
  • Reduces spray drift and minimises non-target contact
  • Improves rain fastness
  • Overall delivers better, faster, more reliable spraying results

Pack sizes and coverage:

  • 0.25L KPlus+ makes 50L spray water
  • 1L KPlus+ makes 200L spray water
  • 5L KPlus+ makes 1000L spray water

Further Application Guidance

  • Horsetail is often called mares tail, but this name more accurately refers to an aquatic weed (Hippuris vulgaris). The correct name for horsetail is Equisetum arvense. Kurtail Lawn is not approved for aquatic use.
  • Horsetail has a deep, vigorous root system which allows regeneration after treatment. Digging or rotavating usually spreads the problem. Contact us if you plan to build over treated areas, for example tarmac drives.
  • Allow horsetail to die back naturally before removing. If removal is needed sooner, wait at least 3 weeks. Any regrowth will need re-spraying.
  • Do not spray if rainfall is due within 3 hours. A 24-hour dry period gives best results.
  • Spray horsetail when it is 6 to 8 inches tall (15 to 20cm), not when it first emerges.
  • Non-tallow amine formulation
  • Please read the label before use
  • Retreatment is often required as separate root fragments emerge and reach the correct height (6 to 8 inches)

Kurtail Lawn is a registered trademark of ProGreen Weed Control Ltd.

When else to use KPlus+

  • Insecticides
    • Better coverage of hidden insect pests
  • Trace elements and foliar feeds
    • Improves uptake and speed of results

Hard Water Effect on Horsetail Control

The effectiveness of many weedkillers can be reduced when ingredients become bound by hard water minerals. Adding KPlus+ to the spray tank helps prevent this and improves results.

Recommended PPE as per the MSDS: protective clothing (coverall), protective gloves, eye/face protection, respiratory protection

These are NOT meant for regular play like the other reviews seem to think.
First things first, ignore 90% of these reviews. The reviews saying these balls didn’t last very long clearly don’t know what they’re meant for. These are not “drop and play” kinds of toys. They’re meant to be used as reward toys. Meaning they get used during training sessions for a quick game of tug to reward the dog for good behavior. These are NOT meant for unsupervised play, and not meant for dogs who don’t have reliable recall or drop/Aus commands. That being said, my dog is 95 pounds and stands 29” at the shoulder. She’s a big girl who plays rough. Immediately after opening the package, we did a quick training session with these reward toys. They held up EXTREMELY well. They are made of rubber which means she doesn’t shred them in one short game of tug unlike some of the foam reward toys you will come across. I did have to tighten the knot below the ball before using them, but that’s to be expected with any rope style toy. If your dog does not have a reliable drop command and they are any larger than maybe 25lbs, I would not suggest using the smaller ball. If Nikita didn’t have a reliable drop command, it would be incredibly easy for her to wind up choking on the smaller ball. Even the large ball is pushing it on choking hazard size for a large dog, but again, reliable drop commands are important.

Good quality. 3 month review
My dog likes them more than the more expensive versions we have. Still in one piece and they get beat on, tugged with me and a dog or by 2 dogs both about 70lbs

Dog doesn’t like how it slams into his face from the weight
The balls were heavier than I expected and my dog does not like to engage with it even when I drag and throw them around to play with. To heavy duty for cattle dog

Great Training tool!
These things are great! I have a power chewing 8 month old Doberman who DESTROYS toys and he LOVES these balls. I use them on walks as a training reward and it has been a game changer. He loves these more than treats. Its not something I would leave for him to chew on his own in the house, but that's not what they're meant for. You use the rope to dangle and animate the ball so you become the most interesting thing on the walk. Then a clear drop command and you're back at whatever task you were working on. It's great to train recall, leave it, and reward for any good behavior. Highly recommend as a training tool, just remember to tighten the rope before you use it. Do not leave these things lying around your house and think you'll have a great result if you have a power chewer. Use as intended and you will be a happy camper!
