It works as a smothering and desiccating agent on a wide variety of insects: aphids, whiteflies, spider mites, scales, leafhoppers, grasshoppers, earwigs, and others.

  Since it works on contact, it must be sprayed directly onto the pest. Do not spray foliage in full sun; spray in the early morning or in the evening when temperatures are below 85 degrees. Be sure to spray the undersides of leaves. Apply at the rate of 4-6 Tbs (2.5 fl oz)/gal of water or 2 gal/100 gal of water per acre. Hard water reduces the soap's effectiveness. If your water is hard, you must use a water conditioner or soft water such as Sequester Water Softener. Sunspray or Natural Oil (see Fungicide section) enhances its absorption.
