Stratification Sand

Plants that go dormant in the Winter require their seeds to experience a cold, damp resting period, known as "stratification." This treatment breaks down the seed coat, allowing moisture to enter the seed and begin germination. Temperate carnivorous plants require cold stratification of a minimum of 45°F for 45 days. Colder and longer is fine. See more information about stratification and growing CPs from seed.

Directions:

  1. Place stratification sand into a bowl.
  2. Add 3 teaspoons of water.
  3. Form wet sand into a ball.
  4. Thoroughly mix the packet of seeds into the sand.
  5. Place seed/sand mix into zip lock bag.
  6. Mark bag with start and finish dates.
  7. Refrigerate the seed mix in the sealed plastic bag.
  8. Once stratification is complete, sow the seeds.

Note: Envelope packet measures 3"x5", washed, dried, screened snow white horticultural silica sand, approximately 4.5 oz. Our fine textured sand makes seeds more visible and easier to work with. Each packet is enough for 1 to 3+ of our seed packs. It is advised to check moisture level during stratification. Intervals of freezing are fine for temperate carnivorous plant seeds. Sow directly on to soil surface. CP seeds need light to germinate. Do not bury seeds.

This product is the packet of stratification sand only (first picture). Items in other images are to illustrate the process of stratification preparation, and are not included.

Sweet & nutty😍
Flavor Name: Ceremonial Grade, Size: 1.4 oz (40g), Flavor Name: Ceremonial Grade, Size: 1.4 oz (40g)
I actually like it I’m new to matcha so I’m starting with cheaper ones first I definitely recommend this! It’s so much different than the other ones I’ve gotten, it’s super sweet you literally don’t need any sweetener to it it tastes really good it’s nutty and buttery with sweetness I only rated it a 4 because I lowkey like my matcha bitter ish but I know many of you like it sweet it’s really green it’s a nice color the quality overall is great it’s smoothness and all its worth the money so definitely buy it! (I used Starbucks ice in the pic I didn’t purchase that obviously 😍)

From Someone Who Actually Drinks Japanese Matcha Regularly
Flavor Name: Ceremonial Grade, Size: 1.4 oz (40g), Flavor Name: Ceremonial Grade, Size: 1.4 oz (40g)
After trying a lot of Amazon matcha brands, I honestly think people expecting this to taste super sweet or creamy might be misunderstanding what traditional Japanese matcha is supposed to taste like. This one has more of that genuine, earthy, slightly umami flavor that I usually experience at Japanese matcha cafes. Mine was fresh, smooth, and produced a really delightful latte. It definitely wasn’t “fishy” like some reviews suggested. I also noticed some people complained about bitterness, but using water that’s too hot can ruin almost any matcha. Once I prepared it correctly, the flavor was balanced and clean. For the price, I actually think it’s a pretty solid everyday ceremonial-style matcha.

Ok for the price but not amazing
Flavor Name: Ceremonial Grade, Size: 1.4 oz (40g)
It is fine for the price but has a bit of that unpleasant cheap matcha taste so wont be rebuying. Decent bitterness but not really creamy or sweet in my opinion. The color is good tho so aesthetically it is very pretty.

Best quality for price!
Flavor Name: Ceremonial Grade, Size: 1.4 oz (40g)
One of the best ceremonial matcha powders I’ve ever tried! It blends and froths up so easily and it tastes like true authentic matcha. I was very surprised with the quality and so happy I found a new one.

Cute matcha set, quality for price
Color: Pink, Color: Pink
I was looking for an affordable, quick replacement for my previous matcha set and found this item. For the price point, this is great quality and is such a cute addition to my kitchen. I also like that this includes all the essentials for making a matcha. The chasen does seem to be on the more fragile side though so I'd just be careful and properly take care of it such as blooming it in hot water before any usage and whisk with a very lighthand.
