Buckwheat, contrary to its name, is not related to wheat at all, and in fact is not even a grass. The species is actually more closely related to rhubarb, although we do not at all encourage using Hancock's particular variety of Buckwheat for home cooking.

Buckwheat grows best in soils with light to medium texture, good drainage and will tolerate moderately acidic soils. It is reportedly tolerant of poorly drained soils, but should be avoided on heavy or droughty soils. Buckwheat is planted in the northeastern United States and Canada in the summer, and in the southeastern United States in early spring or fall. Buckwheat can germinate and grow in temperatures as low as 45 degrees but optimal growth occurs at or above 55 degrees. Buckwheat is frost sensitive and does not survive even light frosts.

Buckwheat should be planted at least 60 days before the first expected frost date or before the hot and dry season. A well-sown buckwheat will out-compete weeds. Buckwheat is also seldom damaged by insects or diseases. For this reason, buckwheat has no registered pesticides or herbicides. Buckwheat can be included in cover crop mixes with cow peas, soybeans, sunn hemp, or other warm season annuals. Buckwheat will being to flower within 3 to 6 weeks after planting and flower continuously for several weeks. Buckwheat grown for beneficial bugs should be allowed to flower for at least 20 days.

~~~
Buckwheat seed will thrive in any one of the three climate zones, when planted during the Spring or Summer. Seed at a rate of 70 lbs. per acre when broadcasting, or 50 lbs. per acre when drilling, and fertilize at a rate of 250 to 300 lbs. per acre with a suitable fertilizer. Cover seed at a depth of half-an-inch to one inch. Buckwheat performs best when soil is at a pH of 5.0 to 6.5. Be sure to do a soil test before planting and treat accordingly.
Buckwheat Seed will grow for 10 to 12 weeks, and will grow to a height of up to 30 to 50 inches.
Buckwheat produces a white flower, which makes it a reasonable addition to large flowerbeds, for both aesthetic and soil health purposes. The flowers are popular among bees and other beneficial bugs, providing an extra benefit for the local ecosystem when planted.
Great ball for limited entertainment. Replaceable outer shell is an amazing option!
Color: Blue, Color: Blue
Bought this for our 45lb, ball-obsessed Dutch shepherd/pit bull dog mix. I had one of these years ago with the hard shell and couldn’t be happier with the new foam shell. The new foam shell is much quieter and while our dog might put holes in it with his teeth, he doesn’t seem to ever pull pieces off. For engagement level, he found it VERY interesting at first and was scared to grab it, but once he got over that he started holding it in his mouth even when it shakes and just tries to keep it. Isn’t the best for fetch or anything as he has trouble letting it go when it is actively moving, but it makes him happy while he has it. We just make sure to monitor him while it is out. The ability to change the outer shell and just buy a replacement for the shell instead of a whole new toy is a lovely feature that makes me very happy to continue buying from this company.
Great Interactive Option
Color: Blue
To start, I have been very happy with this purchase. A couple of key points for me are durability and being able to keep my dog's attention. I have had it for almost a year, just a month shy, and she hasn't managed to get through the foam outer shell even though she tries real hard to do so. Let's just say, she's hard to find toys for because of her habit of finding the point of failure where she can pick and gnaw at until the toy is no longer safe for her to have. With this toy, she not only found her match, but it also has her watching, waiting, and even stalking. Only one small issue has recently occurred: the motor has started having an issue where the charge doesn't hold, and it doesn't remain on afterwards. I have reached out to Cheerble directly to see about replacing it since I am still within their 12-month timeframe, and they responded right away.
Quality product for the right dog...
Color: Orange
Honestly it's a really cool product well constructed and moves around on its own with several different modes. The design id brilliant with a tough rubber ball that unscrew to expose the element that makes it move in the middle. The dog won't be able to unscrew it but you can if you ever need to replace the ball for any reason but it would take some work for a dog to destroy the outer ball. Almost like "Kong" type material. The ball is about the size of a softball and the element inside is about the size of a golf ball. I thought my dog would love this but she was afraid of it, which is strange because she's afraid of nothing. Anyways I gave it to my neighbor upstairs and she has a yorkshire terrier who plays with it all the time so it all worked out great. Quality product . Good job!
Thought it was a good idea but not for my dog
Color: Blue
Seemed great but my dog continued to bark at it. Finally she hid it and I haven’t looked for it.
Durability
Color: Blue, Color: Blue
won’t give this product 1 star because my dog still had a good time with it for a few hours. After opening and preparing it, I gave it to my dog and it definitely caught his interest. However, when he chewed on it, plastic pieces started breaking off and he began swallowing them. This product is definitely not suitable for aggressive chewers.
