Since its rediscovery in China some decades ago, this exceptional deciduous conifer offers a wonderful canvas for those looking to create breathtaking forest scenes or stunning standalone uprights. Sporting vibrant colors and delicate, feathery foliage, the Dawn Redwood is also very fast to trunk up and quick to backbud when pruned.

Note that this species is deciduous and will not have leaves if shipped during the winter. The trees pictured are representative examples and will not be the exact trees you receive.

• Height: 11"-24"
• Trunk: 1/8"-1+"
• Hardness Zone: 4-8

Sizing Notes:

• Regular Starts are 1-yr seedlings with the narrowest caliper
• Premium Starts are older, but in the shorter height range with narrower caliper. Some have decent branching while earlier season starts (before June) will not.
• Premium+ Starts are generally a year older and thicker/taller, most with branching.
• XL Premium+ Starts are larger than the premium+ Starts and have been threaded through a washer to produce lateral roots and radial nebari.
• Trunk Chopped Prebonsai are large trunks (3/4" to over 1") with good taper and decent nebari. They have been trunk chopped and already have a straight new leader growing.
