About Crassula Shrek's Ear

Crassula Shrek's Ear, also known as Crassula Ovata Gollum, is a plant native to South Africa. Its leaves curl inwards and are typically green with red edges. It resembles the appearance of Shrek's ears.

How to care for Crassula Shrek's Ear

Sun/Temperature: Crassula Shrek's Ear prefers a warm and sunny environment and is not frost-tolerant, although it can tolerate partial shade. Insufficient sunlight may cause its leaves to elongate and become loose, so it's best placed in a sunny location. During summer, shading is necessary to prevent sunburn. When temperatures drop in winter, they should be moved indoors promptly, as long as temperatures remain above 40°F.

Soil/Watering: Crassula Shrek's Ear prefers loose, well-draining, acidic soil such as leaf mold or peat soil. You can also prepare slightly acidic potting soil, but avoid using alkaline soil directly. During the high temperatures of summer, it enters dormancy, during which watering should be reduced or suspended. In other growing seasons, water is sparingly, ensuring no water stagnation. Employing the soak and dry watering method and using weakly acidic water for regular watering is advisable.

Diseases: Softening of Crassula Shrek's Ear leaves may be due to root issues or insufficient light and moisture. If it's not a root problem, relocate the plant to a brighter spot and check the soil for dryness. If the soil is dry, water thoroughly. If root issues persist, move the plant to a cooler, well-ventilated location.

Propagation: For higher success rates, Crassula Shrek's Ear is typically propagated through stem cuttings. Cut a healthy, fleshy stem segment, let it dry to form a callus, then plant it in moist soil and wait for rooting before transplanting it into a pot.

Fertilization: Crassula Shrek's Ear has moderate fertilizer requirements, with organic fertilizer applied monthly during its growth period.

The only plush toys that last for my girl!
These are awesome! I have a 4 year old doberman and she destroys most plush toys in a matter of minutes. These are the only ones that last and are worth the money! Even once she does pull the stuffing out, the shell of the toy is still mostly intact and she'll play with that for a long time as well!

Our doggies favorite toy
Color: Yellow, Color: Yellow
This is our 3 dog’s favorite toy! We’ve had it for over a year, it’s lived outside for a while, was buried, found, taken all around the house. This toy shows up in the most random places and is still in tack (for the most part). They fight over this toy. They also have the pig from the same brand and it’s still alive! Other toys are usually shredded in a few days.

Not a strong toy for chewers.
Color: Yellow
Not quite as strong as its description. My dog chewed off its foot within the first 10 minutes . I expected it to be stronger because it’s made of Kevlar material but it’s not that durable. Save your money it is far from being durable / indestructible.

Soccer ball just for dogs
Size: 6 Inch Diameter, Color: Ocean Blue
I could say "soccer", and our shoodle would wag her tail ready to play soccer with a tennis ball so I tried out this real soccer ball with her. Mostly, she just wants to wait for me to kick it, playing defense, so she can chase it like the tennis ball. After that she wants to usually bite it or roll over on top of it as a way to secure the ball, but sometimes she will have fun pushing it around with her nose or paws. She still prefers the frisbee for play time outside since the frisbee is good for catching and for playing tug-o-war, but this is a good alternative that always gets her wagging with excitement. I wanted to get a regular 6" soccer ball for our shoodle, but this was a good choice for dogs for the durability and safety of the rubber material. The hexagons give the dog some grip to pick it up. The rubber is soft enough to grip and expel air when they do figure out how to grip it. The ball is designed to suck back in air when the dog releases the ball. - Durable rubber material ideal for dogs - Dog can squeeze out air to grip it - Ball fills back up with air after air is squeezed out - Can make more noise than a leather soccer ball - Noise is still tolerable when used indoors
