types of peruvian cactus Peruvian Apple CactusThe Peruvian Apple Cactus is a majestic, tree like columnar cactus prized for its commanding architectural presence and sweet, edible rewards. The Peruvian Apple Cactus is a majestic, tree-like columnar cactus prized for its commanding architectural presence and sweet, edible rewards. It forms a bold, upright sculpture of ribbed, blue-green stems that branch gracefully from the base, resembling a candelabra or organ pipe. Its true spectacle unfolds at night, when enormous, creamy-white, fragrant flowers open wide for a single evening. These are followed by smooth-skinned, apple-shaped fruits in shades of violet-red to yellow, revealing a crisp, white flesh dotted with crunchy seeds. A slow-burn investment that pays dividends in beauty and bounty, it is an essential living monument for the water-wise landscape.

Iconic Candelabra Form: Develops into a multi-branched, upright tree over many years, with thick, cylindrical, blue-green to grey-green stems featuring 6–13 distinct ribs. Its slow, deliberate growth rewards patience with an irreplaceable sculptural legacy.

One-Night Floral Spectacle: Produces huge, funnel-shaped, nocturnal flowers up to 6 inches across. The luminous white petals emit a strong, sweet fragrance, attracting bats and moths for a single, unforgettable night before closing forever at dawn.

Sweet, Edible "Peruvian Apples": Bears thornless, rounded fruit ripening from violet-red to yellow. The refreshing, juicy white pulp has a mild, sweet flavour and is studded with edible, crunchy seeds. Enjoy fresh, or use in beverages and preserves.

Exceptional Drought and Heat Tolerance: Thrives on neglect in full, unrelenting sun. Requires infrequent, deep watering only when soil is bone-dry. Its primary enemy is overwatering and poor drainage, which will cause fatal root rot.

Tender Giant for Mild Climates: Hardy to light frost (approx. 25-30°F) when dry. Best in USDA zones 9-11. In colder zones, it is a magnificent, slow-growing container specimen that can be summered outdoors and wintered in a bright, cool indoor space.

Disappointed
Color: S6-muti-color
These were great for about 20 minutes then they stopped squeaking...we have 2 left that I have saved but the other 4 do not squeak anymore...disappointed as my dog loves to squeak things...would not buy these again...My dog is only an 8lb dog too...but he can still play with the balls without the squeak...

Great Value for a ball my dog loves!
Color: S6-muti-color
I wish these ball were in the subscription program! My dog gets sooo excited by the new ball, but her interest in things lasts for a few days. She kills the squeak within 11minutes, but the squeaker stays in place rather than becoming a chocking or swallow hazard, and she still loves to chew it. Next, we must throw the ball approximately 723 times the first day, possibly 496 times on day 2, and just 3- 4 on day 3, at which point she will chase the ball before hollering "it's over here if you need it," while she checks on the chipmunk den. We currently have 17 of these balls in our yard (because we have given several leftovers to a less discriminating doodle next door). These balls hold up really well, get her extremely active for the first couple of days, and are a much cheaper than doggie daycare (after an active morning with a new ball, she is happy to chew on it and sleep much of the day). I always have these on hand!

Pieces chewed off
Color: white & green
My Aussiedoodle loves it. I throw it down the hallway, it bounces crazy, and he chases it. The only complaint is that he can't chew much of the ball part. So now I have to have it put away and brought out for special playtime.

Durable. Squeak doesn't last forever with my aggressive chewers but crinkle does. Best balls.

Balls

My dog loves chasing these balls. He seems to love the squeak! They fit the chuck it stick perfectly, and are great replacements for the originals that came with the stick.
