Cultivation method:
Easy to grow, Sunflower 'Cherry Rose' prefers a full sun location and well-drained soil. Sow directly outdoors in late May, 6-12mm deep, spacing seeds 7.5-10cm apart. Once seedlings have emerged, thin or transplant to space plants 30-45cm apart.
For an early start, start seeds 2-3 weeks before last frost indoors in peat pots or Jiffy 7's at 70°F. Plant hardened-off seedlings outdoors after danger of frost has passed. Keep plants evenly watered and fertilize with a 15-5-15 granular fertilizer or equivalent until flower buds form. Germination takes 5-10 days.
