Geranium Anne Thomson - AGM

A real fine variety with deep pink flowers in spring and summer from large mounds of yellow foliage, perfect in semi-shade through to full sun. Geranium Anne Thomson is a unique hybrid from the same parents as G. Ann Folkard, but with smaller flowers, yellower leaves, and a more compact habit. The striking yellow foliage in spring creates a beautiful display, followed by long flowering stems with dark pink flowers and black centers. This hardy herbaceous perennial grows up to 50cm in height and has a spread of 1m.

  • Foliage Colour: Bright yellow in spring fading to a paler yellow/green
  • Flower Colour: Pink/purple flowers with black centers
  • Soil Type: Moist, well drained, sandy, loam
  • Position: Full Sun to partial shade
  • Hardiness: Hardy once established in a sheltered spot, H7 (-15 and lower)
  • Type: Deciduous, Herbaceous perennial

Geraniums, also known as Crane's Bill, refer to two types of plants in general gardening - Greenhouse Geraniums (officially Pelargoniums) and hardy perennial Geraniums. This variety falls under the latter category and is easy to grow, making it a great addition to any garden border. The Genus is vast, ranging from small alpines to large perennials. These plants thrive in most conditions, except for very wet and boggy areas, and can tolerate full sun to semi-shade. They mainly flower from spring to late summer and have a low growth habit, making them ideal for ground cover and front of the border. For vigorous varieties, trimming back after the first flowering can encourage regrowth and a second flowering. In winter, a good mulch will provide the plant with all it needs to shoot away in the spring.

This Geranium Anne Thomson is grown in a 2 Litre pot and is a deciduous, herbaceous perennial. Its bright yellow foliage in spring fades to a paler yellow/green, while its flowers are a beautiful pink/purple with black centers. It prefers a moist, well-drained, sandy, loam soil and can thrive in full sun to partial shade. Once established in a sheltered spot, it is hardy (H7) and can withstand temperatures as low as -15 degrees. Its sprawling, tumbling habit does not spread, and it dies back to a tight clump. With its unique characteristics and easy maintenance, this Geranium Anne Thomson is a must-have for any garden.

Sort of good for tough chewers??
Color: Deep Roots Carrot - Small, Size: Small Dog
The actual carrot part (orange part) is tough chewer approved and my dog loves. It’s basically the same shape and size as his kong. However the leaves (green part) is not tough chewer approved. He ripped ALL those leaves off and ate them within 5 minutes of me giving him the toy. However they passed through him fine.

Pretty hard to clean
Color: Cinamutt Roll - Large, Size: Large
We've had this for about a week now. I have 2 dogs, one small one about 55lb. I bought this for my big girl, but lil man is determined to get the best of this toy. Usually they don't both go after the same toys, so this is interesting. The trouble is, neither one of them can get all the treats out if something makes it all the way down into the crevice. It's surprisingly deep. The up side is that they'll try for quite a while before giving up. The down side is even if you put it in the top rack of the dishwasher, something stuck deep in there isn't going anywhere until you dig it out yourself. I tried a plastic knife but it broke the second time I used it in there. I wound up using the metal handle of a reusable straw cleaner. Which then I had to wash that, too. Then it needs to dry overnight before it can be used again. All in all, the dogs like it fine, it's gross to scrape out and wash, takes longer than most toys to dry, and I have the feeling that will eventually cause me to pass it to someone else's dog long before my two have gotten tired of it. At this point I'm pulling out of the toy rotation for a week or two because I'm not ready to clean it a third time.
