Tiger Tooth Aloe

Scientific name: Aloe juvenna
Common names: Tiger Tooth Aloe, Juvenile Aloe
Origin: Kenya (East Africa)

🌱 Description

  • Shape & size: It forms small, clumping rosettes (4–6 inches tall). Over time, the rosettes can stack and spread, forming attractive clusters.
  • Leaves: Bright green with white, tooth-like serrations along the edges—hence the name Tiger Tooth. The leaves often turn reddish or bronze when exposed to full sun or stress (which actually looks beautiful).
  • Texture: The leaves are firm, slightly translucent, and covered with small white spots.
  • Flowers: Produces tubular, coral-red or orange flowers on tall stalks, typically in summer.

🌞 Light Requirements

  • Bright light to full sun is ideal.
  • Indoors: place it near a south- or west-facing window.
  • Outdoors: it can tolerate full sun but appreciates a bit of afternoon shade in very hot climates.

💧 Watering

  • Water thoroughly but infrequently—let the soil dry completely between waterings.
  • Overwatering is the main cause of problems (root rot).
  • In winter, reduce watering significantly.

🌵 Soil

  • Needs well-draining soil (a cactus/succulent mix is perfect).
  • You can improve drainage by mixing perlite, pumice, or coarse sand into the soil.

🌡️ Temperature & Hardiness

  • Prefers temperatures between 60–80°F (15–27°C).
  • Not frost-tolerant — protect it from freezing (<40°F / 4°C).
  • It can be grown outdoors in USDA zones 9–11.

🌸 Propagation

  • Very easy to propagate by offsets (pups) that grow around the base of the main rosette.
  • Gently remove a pup, let it dry for a day or two, then plant it in dry, well-draining soil.

🧤 Care Tips

  • Avoid letting water sit in the rosettes—it can cause rot.
  • Fertilize lightly (1–2× per year) with a diluted succulent fertilizer during the growing season (spring/summer).
  • Clean off dead leaves at the base to keep it tidy and prevent pests.

Works
Size: 8.5"x11"
Works great for sublimation. Get plenty of sheets. Great value for the price. The paper is pretty thick and seems to hold a good amount of ink without smearing.

My go-to sublimation paper for crafting
Size: 8.5"x11"
I've used several sublimation papers, and this one has worked really well for my crafting projects. The colors transfer bright and vibrant, and the images come out crisp with good detail when using the proper sublimation printer and ink. The paper feeds smoothly through my printer and feels like a good quality weight—not too thin and not overly thick. I've used it for tumblers, keychains, and other sublimation projects, and I've been happy with the results. I also appreciate getting 110 sheets in one pack because it lasts a while, especially when working on multiple projects at once. Overall, this is a reliable sublimation paper that gives consistent results and is great for crafters or small business owners.

My Go-To Sublimation Paper — Flawless Results Every Time
Size: 8.5"x11", Size: 8.5"x11"
This is hands down the best sublimation paper I’ve used and the only one I continue to buy. I get a perfect transfer every single time—no fracturing, no fading, and no uneven results. The paper dries fast, which makes my workflow so much smoother, especially when I’m producing items in batches. I use this regularly to make air fresheners and tote bags for my small business, and the color payoff is always vibrant and crisp. The transfer rate is excellent, and it works beautifully on light-colored, high-quality polyester and other sublimation-ready surfaces. If you’re a small business owner or crafter who values consistency, quality, and ease of use, this paper is absolutely worth it. I highly recommend it and will continue to repurchase.

Best Sublimation Paper
Size: 8.5"x11"
I’ve been using A-Sub paper for my sublimation projects, and it is easily one of the best. The ink dries almost instantly once printed, so I don’t have to worry about smudging the design or getting those annoying "pizza wheel" marks from the printer rollers. The paper itself feels substantial and doesn't tear or curl easily. One of the biggest wins for me is that it never jams; it feeds through perfectly every time, saving me the frustration of wasting expensive ink and paper. When I go to press my designs, the ink releases almost completely, leaving very little behind on the paper and putting all that color onto the project. The final results look super professional, with colors that are vibrant and sharp rather than looking faded or dull. It has worked perfectly for everything I’ve tried so far, and if you want a reliable paper that gives you consistent, high-quality results, this is definitely the one to get.
