Dracaena draco (Dragon Tree, Canary Islands Dragon Tree, Drago) is a unique and iconic tree species native to the Canary Islands, Madeira, and Cape Verde. It belongs to the Asparagaceae family and is renowned for its distinctive appearance, cultural significance, and historical associations.

Physical Characteristics: The Dragon Tree is a slow-growing, evergreen tree that can reach impressive heights of up to 12-15 meters (39-49 feet). Its trunk is stout and massive, often with a gnarled and twisted appearance. The trunk's texture is rough and grayish-brown, and it is characterized by a thick, scaly bark that resembles dragon scales, hence the common name "Dragon Tree." Over time, the trunk may develop multiple branches or lateral growths near the top.

Leaves: The leaves of Dracaena draco are long, lance-shaped, and clustered at the ends of the branches. They are thick and leathery, typically measuring around 60-90 centimeters (23-35 inches) in length. The leaves are a deep green color and have a slightly curved or arching shape, giving the canopy a graceful and tropical appearance.

Resin and "Dragon's Blood": One of the unique characteristics of the Dragon Tree is its ability to produce a deep red resin known as "dragon's blood." When the tree's bark or leaves are injured or cut, a red sap oozes out and hardens upon exposure to air. This resin has been historically valued for various purposes, including traditional medicine, dyes, varnishes, and incense.

Flowers and Fruits: The Dragon Tree produces small, greenish-white flowers that are borne in dense clusters on tall, branched inflorescences. The flowers are often fragrant and attract pollinators such as bees and birds. After pollination, the tree may produce small, fleshy fruits that are spherical and contain several seeds. These fruits are generally not consumed by humans.

Cultural Significance and Mythology: The Dragon Tree has significant cultural and historical importance in the Canary Islands and other regions where it is found. It has been associated with various legends and folklore, often regarded as a symbol of longevity, strength, and protection. The red resin, "dragon's blood," was considered sacred in ancient times and had ritualistic and medicinal uses.

Conservation Status and Importance: Dracaena draco is listed as a vulnerable species due to habitat loss, urbanization, and other human activities. The tree's slow growth and low reproductive rate make it vulnerable to population decline. Efforts are being made to protect and conserve the remaining Dragon Trees and their habitats, as they play a crucial role in the ecosystems of the Canary Islands and hold cultural and historical significance.

Love these already! Came in handy just when I need it!
These acne patches came in really handy when I had a random breakout near my lip, especially since that’s an area where I tend to wear a lot of makeup. They helped gently draw out impurities without being harsh on my skin. I also like that they blend in well on the skin. They’re not tinted, but they still work nicely across different skin tones like advertised, which makes them less noticeable while wearing them. You get a good amount in the package as well—33 patches total, with 18 patches on each sheet. Overall, they’re convenient to have on hand for unexpected breakouts, and I would definitely recommend them.

Doggo approved!
Puppy said, "Yes, please." She's a large breed and chews through some toys like nothing. It is May now, and this one is still standing strong. It doesn't have any pieces coming off, so it's quite hard and safe, nothing is coming off for her to eat. It is really resistant to chewing from a Great Pyrenees, and for the price you can't beat it, as it will last months.

Dog tested, dog approved
This is a large, heavy-duty bone. And a great one. My Pitt-mix is very tough on things and can destroy most chew toys in short order. This actually has held up very well to his best attempts. As shown in the picture, after a lot of use over several weeks the most that he's been able to do is to put some small bite marks in it. I'm impressed. That's largely due to the material used. It's a dense, rubbery-type material that's resilient to biting/cutting/tearing. Very solid without being hard. Kind of along the same lines as that used for the popular Chuck-It toys if you're familiar with those (but heavier). I like this softer material better than the nylon bones which he loves but I'm afraid are going to crack a tooth at some point. Has some scent to it but does not have a strong smell. Can't vouch for the flavor but he seems to enjoy it. Again this is large and heavy toy. Probably a little too big/heavy for smaller dogs under say 40lbs or so. Some probably could do it but really better for the bigger dogs. Given how long this one looks like it's going to last, I'd say that it's a very good value. Bottom line - Dog likes it. I like it. Everybody's happy. Great bone. Buy it.

Flavor/Scent May Not Be Very Strong
My pup is picky about toys and the only ones that hold his interest are mostly the scented rubber toys from Playology, They’re great, but expensive, and I was really hoping this would be a cheaper alternative. It really looked like the kind of toy he likes. It’s heavy rubber with a softer texture than the hard toys out there, and it had a lot of surface grooves that lets him grip it with his teeth easily. I gave it to him and he was excited for all of 30 seconds, then he discarded it and hasn’t looked at it since. I suspect the flavor/scent may not be as strong but that’s just a guess. I don’t know if it’s a flaw in the toy or simply a picky pup, so I hesitate to rate this down for that. It does look like a really nice toy and if your dog isn’t a jerk like mine it may be great, and it’s definitely a good price.

Heavy duty rubber bone
This bone is really heavy duty. It's got a groove down the middle of you you can put your pups favorite lickable treat. My 36 lb aussie enjoyed chewing on this and was nibbling the ends. This bone has held up to her chewing it with only a couple little pieces coming off.
