  • Where are all the Pictures?

We are having some trouble getting set up to upload pictures taken with a real camera, which includes our intended goodbye pictures.

But even if we weren’t, we wouldn’t have many pictures yet, other than the ones of the tent in our hotel room.

Because like last time, we’re spending a few days taking it easy and getting adjusted.

But this time there are no surfing lessons, because that was painful.

And no Spanish lessons because Kerri thought her Spanish was better, until a Venezuelan at the mall started speaking Spanish to her and she didn’t even realize it wasn’t Portuguese. But that might be partially because she’s spent days trying to convince her brain not to follow “por favor” with “gracias” because it’s “obrigada” here.

    Want some yourgut?

And last time we were on a beach with waves and tide pools and pelicans and sunsets. This time the only waves are when it’s windy at the pool.

And there are only so many pictures of the pool you want to see.

We do sometimes go out into the city, and it seems nice, but it’s not a place you want to wander around taking pictures.

Tomorrow we go out into the Pantanal, where we will take about a million pictures a day.

But I don’t know if we’ll have the time or internet access to upload them. So you’re probably going to have to wait a while. Sorry.

  • Mama Bear

We saw a mama bear on our walk.

We know it was a mama because we saw the cubs the next day.

But we weren’t quick enough to get a picture of the cubs, just the mama, who didn’t seem to be interested in getting out of our way.

    The cubs were lighter coloured.

Kerri thought they were coyotes at first.

  • Victoria Peak

Victoria Peak has great views of Hong Kong.

There is a 138-year old tram up to it, because that’s how long ago people realized walking up to the top wasn’t fun.

But Kerri decided to walk to the top in a tropical storm anyway.

She didn’t actually need to go up that staircase, she just didn’t realize she was lost until she read the “no entry” sign at the top.

Fortunately there was a free blow-dryer at the peak.
