  • Dune 45

Posted on October 2, 2015 7:21 am by Kerri Comment

We climbed dune 45 to watch the sunrise.

    image

    The sun rose.

    image

    The sand was pretty.

    image

    And fun to jump on.

    image

Then we ran down the dune.

    image

    Which was fun.

  • Kudu

Posted on October 1, 2015 4:12 pm by Kerri Comment

    This is a Kudu.

    image

They are huge but hide surprisingly well.

    image

The males have big spiral horns.

    image

    They all have stripes.

    image

    And giant pink ears.

    image

I’m not sure what this one is doing.

  • Kuiseb Pass

Posted on October 1, 2015 12:19 pm by Kerri Comment

Driving through Namibia was very dusty and dry.

    image

It looks like nothing really lives out here.

    image

But you would be wrong. Can you see the herds.

    image

Okay not so much herds, but here are a few mountain zebra.

  • Solitaire

Posted on October 1, 2015 6:37 am by Kerri Comment

Solitaire is a small town in the desert. It does not have an international airport.

    image

It has some kind of burrowing wasp.

    image

Which was busy digging its burrow.

    image

And kicking lots of sand at Matt.

    image

It also had a lot of cactuses.

    image

    Which were flowering.

    image

It is well known for its pies. Matt did enjoy the pie. The annoyed look is for Kerri, who is distracting him from pie eating by pointing a camera at him.

  • Romantic Sunset Walk on the Beach

Posted on September 30, 2015 2:25 pm by Kerri Comment

Today we went for a romantic walk on the beach.

    image

    To watch the sunset.

    image

    Because sunsets are always romantic.

    image

Even when the wind is freezing cold and the sun doesn’t really properly set but gets all hazy as it nears the horizon.
