Manto de la Novia Waterfall

We stopped at one famous waterfall and took a gondola ride across to a small cafe with a garden.

image

The waterfall used to look like a bridal veil, which is where it got its name, but after a rockfall it changed and now just has two small waterfalls.

image

To get to the cafe we had to take a cablecar.

image

It was long and scary looking.

image

Then we took a bridge across the river.

image

It also looked pretty scary.

image

The river had very little water because the dam was closed.

image

The underside of the rock near the waterfall has a weird texture.

image

The cafe was very green with hummingbird feeders.

image

An agouti came out of the forest while we were there.

image

The agouti is a very large rodent related to guinea pigs.

image

This bird was at the top of a tree nearby.

image

This hummingbird came to feed.

image

Hummingbirds here seem to be very lazy. They all landed on the perch to drink.

image

We went for a walk after and saw lots of flowers.

image

And plants with pretty pink leaves.

image

There are pineapples just growing in the forest.

image

And more pink bananas.

image

These white flowers are funky.

image

There were tons of butterflies.

image

Which did not want to hold still so Kerri could take a picture.

image

This is a different butterfly that did land.

image

But most of them did not.

image

More funky flowers.

image

image

The vultures were flying overhead.

image

More pink flowers.

image

There was another small waterfall across the river.

image

Kerri stood by it too.

image

The valley is very pretty.

image

It was a very nice stop.
