National Museum of the United States Air Force

The National Museum of the United States Air Force is in Dayton, Ohio. Along with absolutely nothing else.

This is good, because it means they have lots of space. Eight giant hangers plus outdoor exhibits.

image

Half of one of the hangers is filled with just one giant plane though.

image

There is a separate taller building for rockets.

image

They have the original wind tunnel that Orville Wright used in 1916. It is very small.

image

They also have a section of the Berlin Wall, which doesn’t seem to be related to airplanes at all.

image

And some people using a Trabi to climb over the Berlin Wall. Aircraft would actually have been helpful here, so maybe that’s the tie-in?

image

They also had a lot of planes.

image

This plane is pink.

image

This is Dwight Eisenhower’s plane.

image

The pilot’s seats do not look very comfortable.

image

The passenger seats look slightly more comfortable.

image

This is Matt spying on Roosevelt’s plane.

image

His pilots were slightly more comfortable.

image

His passengers were much more comfortable.

image

Though the beds still look pretty bad.

image

This is a blimp.

image

This is SHAAAARK PLANE!!!!!! is just like SHAAARK BOAT!!!!!! except it spends slightly more time flying.

image

This plane is very big and very weird.

image

This is Kerri with a real flying saucer. Err…uncontrollable hovering saucer.
